From the desk
of Robbie
Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas to all our wonderful GSFE
Sisters, I wish for each of you Health, Happiness and Success.
Remember together we will all get through this pandemic, which for
some has been harder than they even imagined, but we are fighters
and women with great determination, and we will all survive and
come out of it with new skills and lots of lessons learned. Many have
had to change their business into different directors, and many found
time to write their books that they had been talking about for years.
Many learned new skills and became better at Zoom, some still not
doing zoom and yet they really need to realize that zoom is one of
the new ways to do business.
Temecula GSFE had an early Holiday gathering before the lockdown
here is the link to see all the photos taken by Johnathan Carlson our
at a young age. They were very excited to do it and each card and
message was different.
Joan E Wakeland Director of Hemet nd Riverside GSFE had a
fantastic launch of her book as did Angeline Benjamin who
also launched her book and both made best sellers status. The
Many of you know that Angeline Benjamin is moving to Arizona soon,
she did an outstanding job as director of South Orange County and as
my co director for Menifee. She will be running one of our zoom lunch
meetings from AZ starting in February. Jodie Moncrief is stepping into
the Directors slot for South Orange County and she is very excited.
Since we lost out Victorville director, Terry Lea Hoard who moved to
Virginia and only currently have one member we at this time are going
to cancel that network as the member we has been joining in on our
zoom meetings and we will make her a member of one of the zoom
networks I will be contacting her to see which one she wants to be
in. We are getting lots of out of state and country members so we will
continue to have several zoom meetings a month even when we are
allowed to all meet live which I think will be probably be Spring next
year.
Angeline Benjamin
Terry Lea Hoard
Because of the lockdown all January GSFE meetings will be on Zoom
and then we will see where we are in Mid January for the February
meetings. We hope all our members will connect with us on zoom its
really easy to use and if you don’t know how we will show you.
We are glad to hear that Marcy Decato, Temecula Member and Gigi
Mindreau-Banks Riverside GSFE members are feeling much better and
sorry to here that Temecula Co Director Shelly Rufin is not feeling well
our prayers are with them all for a speedy recovery.
There have been many date changes for the CD Wilson events below is
the updated Calendar of events so you can get it on your calendar for
2021, all these dates had to be changed because of the pandemic see
the updates below.
Marcy Decato &
Gigi Mindreau-Banks
Shelly Rufin
Some dates of GSFE events to remember for 2021 and hope we don’t
have to change them is our Lady In Blue Sapphire Awards and Fashion
Greatness Women’s Conference April 21st Sat at the Links at Summerly
we are getting lots of out of state new members and that is something
they can be a part of as well as any of our CA members can also be
on board, more details on that will be forthcoming, we probably will
look to add our dynamic speaker zoom members as presenters more
information will be put together after the first of the year.
Angeline Benjamin
Menifee News
By Robbie Motter
Kimberly Anderson our November speaker was great, her topic
“The Three C’s To Your Transformation and Success. Members and
guests had lots of questions for her and learned much from the
presentation. Kimberly is the author of this recently published book
. Kimberly is also a member of the Lake ElsinoreMurrieta GSFE
network and has a television show that she is always looking for
guests for, her email is kimberlycanderson5@gmail.com.
It was exciting to see co-director Angeline Benjamin launch her
book this month, you can buy the book on Amazon.com
We are sorry to see Angeline Benjamin soon to leave to Phoenix,
AZ, her husband recently got a job there, she will continue to be
with GSFE as a director of a 1st Thursday noon zoom meeting and
later when she gets settled and the Covid thing is over will set up
a live meeting in Phoenix in addition to the zoom monthly meeting.
She selected one of her members in SOC to take over as Director
in January and I will later look for a co-director to replace her in
Menifee.
20
Global Society For Female Entrepreneurs - www.globalsocietyforfemaleentrepreneurs.org

Congratulations also to Joan Wakeland on the launch ad success
of her book this photo is of Lori Raupe who helped Joan Publish
the book where she s presenting Joan with her first book that was
just published and presented it to Joan at the Menifee meeting.
Sorry to hear that some of the members in the Dorothy Wolons
household are under the weather, we send them all prayers for a
speedy recovery.
Lynn Hartung has been busy with some bathroom remodeling
to make it easier for her husband to get around and she said
its looking great and making it so much easier for him. Being a
caregiver is hard and she is always happy when she can get out
and come to our meetings and have time for her.
It was great to hear that Deborah Irish, Paint and Sip parties
are getting booked again, in person and on line and she is also
teaching art classes and she is so talented so if you have been
wanting to learn to pain she is the one to call and if you want to
have a fun paint party call her at 951-536-3580 .
Global Society For Female Entrepreneurs - www.globalsocietyforfemaleentrepreneurs.org
Please put Sue Lopez in your prayers she is still having lots of pain and
issues with her legs and would like us to put her in our prayers as she knows
how powerful prayers can be. In spite of it all she is still doing grat selling
Real Estate as houses are flying off the market. But it’s a lot harder for her to
show a house and get around.
Susie Mierzwik who sells Life Wave continues to get fantastic testimonials
from her clients as to how these patches are helping them with pain and so
many other issues Susie was also Menifee’s award winner for World Kindness
Day.
Enjoying a Virginia vacation with her son and his family is Jean Olexa, and
she has also been really busy teaching her grandchildren about Service to
their community and they have been writing letters to Veterans and more
and loving what they are doing. Teaching them from young is going to
make them tuned into community work.
Robbie Motter the director of Menifee was also busy this month helping the
Boys and Girls Club in Menifee get donations for their on line auction, and
she also donated on behalf of GSFE $100.00 to the Thanksgiving event for
food to families in Sun City, over 500 meals were served and Mernas cooked
all the food. The group putting it on raised funds from other organizations as
well to pay for all the meals and have them picked up FREE so these families
could have a nice Thanksgiving meal. It’s always a good feeling to reach out
and lift someone else up.
The December meeting was going to be amazing, it was going to
be a Holiday event, with a $10.00 gift exchange and some beautiful
entertainment from Alicia Rinaldi, Alicia has been signing Opera since she
was 5, she is now 10 and has an incredible song list. Since age 5 she has
been singing in talent shows at school, church and Menifee’s Got Talent, She
has been invited to perform in concerts, fair, high school graduations, dinner
parties, wedding and sporting events and has performed for us at one of
our extravaganza and our 2019 GFE Soar to Greatness Conference. I met
her when I as a judge for the Menifee Boys and Girls Club ‘the One Singing”
competition in 2019 which she was the winner of in her age group. Also our
dynamic speaker was going to be AnGele Cade who no matter when she
speaks the audience loves her, this is a woman with so much knowledge and
with no notes just shares so much and every topic we all learn. She is the
CEO/Founder of Executive on the Go and also is the Vice Chair of GSFE and
also is the director of the San Fernando Valley GSFE network which since
the pandemic started has been on Zoom. She lives in the Valley so drives all
the way from there when she speaks for US. Well this did not get to happen
because of the Governor is shutting us all down. We will have to see what
happens for January whether it will be live or zoom so keep posted. We
asked all our members from our live networks to join our zoom meetings this
month as they still will be happening.
As you can see Menifee GSFE and its members have been very busy even
during this Pandemic and want to wish everyone a Happy Hanukkah and a
Very Merry Christmas and we look forward to exciting things for all in the
Nw Year as together we can all get through this.
Greetings from the Riverside GSFE Chapter!
Welcome to the new members of GSFE, we are happy to have you in the
Sisterhood! In GSFE you will be in a safe environment where we help each
other to grow! We collaborate, not compete ! Together we achieve more!
The year 2020 offered a Roller Coaster Ride to the world !
Some of us have had major challenges in the area of health, child care, elder care and finances.
Nevertheless it is not what we faced but how we reacted to these curveballs when they were
thrown at us. Curveballs that were unexpected, curveballs that may have propelled us on to a new
business and curveballs that forced us to move out of our comfort zone!
GSFE Founder Robbie Motter has been a great role model, she says that we have to live, we have
to find alternatives to the “norm “ Zoom Meetings have been that alternative for the Riverside
Chapter. We will continue to do these on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm.
Please enjoy the rest of the year and we look forward to seeing you in 2021
News from
South Orange County
GSFE
Jodie Moncrief
Nanci Ann Horvath
NOVEMBER UPDATE
We hadn’t scheduled a speaker, so we had a fun time sharing stories about our
Thanksgiving traditions, what we are grateful for, and what we all were doing on
Thanksgiving.
Angeline Benjamin launched her book that day, “Life Lessons, Leading to Success” and it
made it to an international best seller on Amazon!
Catherine Barr is continuing to donate her delicious chocolate products to frontline
workers for a $20 donation.
NanciAnn Horvath shared that she recently scheduled a comedy gig by running across
someone on the “NextDoor” app, looking for entertainment!
Angeline Benjamin announced that she was moving to Phoenix, Arizona, due to her
husband’s great new job. Effective January 2021 there will be 2 new virtual GSFE meetings,
All GSFE members are encouraged to attend both of them, because we will have beyond
Southern California, out of state and International members and guests attending these
virtual meetings:
• Angeline Benjamin will lead a new GSFE Virtual meeting via Zoom that will occur on every
first Thursday of the month at noon - PST. (for January 2021, it will be January 7th).
• AnGele Cade, in addition to leading the San Fernando Valley chapter, will lead another
new GSFE virtual meeting via Zoom that will occur on every third Thursday of the month at
4 PM-PST (for January 2021, it will be January 21st)
• Jodie Moncrief will replace Angeline Benjamin as a Director of South Orange County
GSFE effective December 16, 2020, and Nanciann Horvath will continue to serve as the Co-
Director.
This month, we are excited to feature Kara Maldonado, our new South Orange County GSFE
member, who joined us in October. Let’s welcome her to be part of our GSFE sisterhood.
36
Global Society For Female Entrepreneurs - www.globalsocietyforfemaleentrepreneurs.org

Kara Maldonado
Kara Maldonado is from the Bay Area. After graduating from high
school at 16, she followed her big sister’s Path, who graduated from
UCLA Law School to attend college in Los Angeles. Kara wanted to
attend Law School also because her purpose and passion is helping
the less fortunate.
her mother died.
Kara grew up in the Bay Area with her seven brothers and sisters
after losing her father at age 6. She quickly became a second mom to
her siblings while her mother finished school to become a Doctor of
Science. Kara continued that supportive role until 8 years ago when
Kara was married at 21 and had 4 children, (3 boys Gabriel, Brandon, Ronny, and 1 daughter,
Reyna). She left her husband of 17 years due to emotional abuse. She now has 4 wonderful
grandchildren that she adores (3 girls, Maleiah, Jaedyn, Samiaha, and 1 grandson Brandon Jr.).
Kara is so actively involved with her grandchildren so much she is nicknamed Glam-Ma! She
enjoys singing, dancing, and playing games with all her kids and grandkids.
In 2015, Kara developed a rare debilitating blood disorder and Auto-immune disease. At that
time, she found out that her first male grandson, Brandon Jr. would be born soon. He is the 1st
male in the family in ten years. She knew that she had to live to be an active part of his life.
Determined to overcome her debilitating condition, Kara left her Sr. management, Residential
& Commercial Real Estate Development career after 25 years being a Top Performer to play
an active role in her healing! During that time, she discovered her new calling, educating and
helping others overcome their suffering whether physical or emotional. And by a walk of Faith
became the Co-founder and President of Rey of Lite Cryo.
Kara actualized her purpose by utilizing a Cryoskin Partnership and became a Certified
Cryotherapy Technician. As a result of being a Cryoskin client during her illness, she found relief
from inflammation and joint/muscle pain through Lymphatic Drainage and removal of Fat Cells,
which held toxicants. She decided that she could use Cryoskin to help others.
Ever since Kara was a little girl, she has been caring for people and passionate about helping
those in need. So, when COVID cause the entire World to shutdown Kara began her journey.
First, she went to work on herself. She had to overcome the damage that many of us go
through. She feels blessed that she found the courage and strength to overcome this illness
and use this experience to help others do the same!
After, experiencing the Virtual event, “Unleash the Power Within” with Tony Robbins, she knew
that it was okay to love herself and dream bigger! She invested in herself for the first time and
started Spiritual Life Coaching, Unchaos Yourself by Tina Arana Anderson, Business Strategy
Coaching with Dr. Ted Sieja, and Financial Business/Personal Coaching with Jerry Hsu.
Kara wanted to do more for her clients than just removing fat cells and giving them their ideal
shape or desired weight. Her Mission was to change one woman at a time by providing an
overall Holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle. Kara has achieved her objective by offering a
program called OC Body Revive. The Program encompasses Therapeutic, Functional Nutrition,
Personal Fitness Training, Sea of Youth Wellness Supplements, Spiritual Mindset Coaching, and
Cryoskin for Lymphatic Drainage and Body Sculpting.
Global Society For Female Entrepreneurs - www.globalsocietyforfemaleentrepreneurs.org
37

Kara’s Vision to change the world one person at a time includes providing an Organic,
Gluten-Free, Vegan, Holistic regimen. Like the stunning actress Audrey Hepburn, Kara
embodies the sentiment. “The beauty in a woman is not the clothes, her figure or even her
hair. True beauty is reflected in her soul”!
Kara and her Team of Passionate, Power Professionals will help you make a Healthy Lifestyle
Change!
This month, our meeting will be held one week earlier than regularly scheduled. We will be
having a virtual Holiday party on Tuesday, December 15th at 6:30 PM. We will not have a
speaker, instead, each attendee will have a chance to share with all of us, their favorite story
or funniest holiday tradition/inspiration and their funniest or craziest gift they ever received.
Everybody is encouraged (not mandatory) to dress in their favorite holiday sweater/shirt
(ugly or not). We will have a fun game and prizes. Let’s toast the holiday season with your
favorite drink and share your excitement with all of us!
18 Marketing Tips for
2021
By Marcy Decato
Creative Solutions Marketing
& Printing
If you are marketing a product, service, brand or company in 2021, the following are tips
that can help you succeed. These ideas come from years in the marketing industry.
1. Spend more time defining a marketing challenge or problem. The crisper the
definition, the more likely you are to solve your problem.
2. Increase the amount you listen during meetings and decrease your talking. Most of
us want to share our ideas, but if you aren’t listening to colleagues, you aren’t gaining
fresh perspectives.
3. Avoid doing “marketing stuff” like others. Don’t follow some general best practice of
how to market. Best practices make you average. Do you want to be mediocre?
4. Consider the incredible value of surprising a prospect with something they don’t
expect that reinforces your message. Don’t say, do. Find a way to bring some wow to
your early engagement with a customer, so they see you doing what you say you will do
in the future.
5. Stay focused. The more you dilute your efforts with more products or new markets,
the less likely you will succeed anywhere. Be the expert in something and demonstrate
depth.
6. Find ways to help customers share news about you. If you can eliminate the work
or friction involved in spreading the news about your brand, you increase customer’s
willingness to share information with their friends and colleagues.
7. Be helpful in your communications. No one wants to read long, boring newsletters.
Provide simple, singular tips that might help your customers or clients solve a problem.
8. When you come up a brilliant idea, work equally as hard to disprove its viability. That
way, you’ll feel more confident that you have thought through the risks and challenges
before you go to market. Assign someone the role of devil’s advocate, so you are blindsided
by your ideas.
9. Communicate as directly as possible with your end customer. The stronger your
direct relationship with customers, the higher chance you have to serve them and their
needs. Feedback – good or bad, is gold.
Global Society For Female Entrepreneurs - www.globalsocietyforfemaleentrepreneurs.org
47

10. Use the phone. Stop hiding behind email. Call people and speak to them to make
sure you are clear on what they need. If you have a membership club, talk to at least
one member every day so you can stay connected to their needs. You can hear the
disappointment in a customer’s voice - it is hard to understand it clearly in a survey or
email.
11. Be flexible. At some point, that new product’s flaws are apparent and pushing it
uphill may be the wrong approach. Don’t be afraid to regroup, rethink and reimagine the
idea. There is nothing worse than trying to market a product or service that you know is
flawed. People won’t believe it if you know it is faulty.
12. Plan time to daydream and wonder. Whether you work in marketing in a small to midsized
business or are the owner, without scheduling some thinking time into your day, you
will repress your curiosity. Don’t plan yourself so that you don’t have time to reconsider
an approach, an idea or a strategy. Block time on your calendar to rethink a project you
are investing in to help you double down or regroup. Thinking time fuels innovation.
13. Help someone connect without expecting anything in return. Karma is a bitch. It
comes around and can bite you in the butt. Be generous with your time and connections
because it is the right thing to do. The most exceptional marketing professionals I know,
do this with their full heart and soul as often as they can.
14. Don’t market a product after you make it. Find an audience or community. Learn
what this audience needs are and determine if you can provide something that serves
them. You don’t market a product – you serve a community of people with a need.
15. Study companies outside of your industry. If no one in your marketplace is doing
something like offering a big, hairy guarantee – but others do it in other sectors, learn
why. Find out if you can reimagine some marketing strategy or tactic from a noncompetitive
market.
16. Keep thinking small. Create products and services that a few people are wildly in love
with and stop worrying about the scale. First, find raving fans. Then, figure out how to
help them spread the word. Then, think about getting a few more raving fans. The right
customer can be worth one thousand indifferent customers who don’t care.
17. Find brands you admire and study how they market themselves. There are marketing
lessons to be learned by watching how companies behave. I recently discovered a
bicycle company that allows you to test drive a bike for 365 days. They are so confident
you’ll love their bike, which they offer you something no one else in their industry will do.
48
Global Society For Female Entrepreneurs - www.globalsocietyforfemaleentrepreneurs.org

18. Expand your network of sounding boards. I benefit from having friends, former
colleagues and new connections who are willing to listen to an idea and give me honest
feedback. They might help refocus my efforts or provide a little wind in my sail. Your
network is a powerful ally if you when you are marketing your business, brand, products or
services. Be generous, so your network wants to help you because you consistently offer to
help them.
Here is a bonus marketing tip. Be grateful. Show gratitude and grace to those you work with
and for all the blessings in your life.
5 Ways to Make Your
Next Follow-Up Your Best
Follow-Up
Following up with potential customers should be a high-priority component of any marketing
strategy.
1. Make Time to Follow Up
Creating a follow-up schedule complete with notifications keeps the entire process efficient
and effective. Today’s marketer is fielding leads from a variety of sources: phone calls, emails,
website inquiries, social media, even snail mail. Mapping out your plan of attack isn’t just
convenient, it’s essential.
2. Treat Potential Customers With Respect
Following up with potential customers shouldn’t be tricky. The lead is warm, and the interest
is there. All you need to do is initiate a genuine conversation that will hold their attention and
nudge them gently forward.
Do your homework and have your talking points ready, but also come prepared to listen. Your
prospects don’t want a thinly veiled sales pitch. Listen to what each prospect has to say. Get
a feel for who they are and what they do, then figure out how you can make their lives easier.
When you respect the individuality of potential customers, your conversations resonate. And
there’s nothing more memorable than real advice from an industry expert, especially when
it’s tailor-made for the prospect’s specific situation.
3. Provide Valuable Content
Your prospects are busy, and not every follow-up requires a direct conversation. You want to
add value, not stress and aggravation. Content marketing not only allows you to bridge the
gap with value during the in-between times, but it also allows you to expand your potential
touch points.
The content you create and share should always be relevant to your prospects and your
business. It should never be about the hard sell; instead, it should provide value and advance
the overarching conversation. This positions you as an interested partner rather than a pushy
salesman.
Remember, for 78 percent of consumers, custom content is the calling card of a company
who cares. So whether you’re creating infographics, FAQ videos or sharing images on
Instagram, always keep the potential customer in mind.
50
4. Use Every Available Avenue
If you want to form a lasting connection with potential customers, meet them on their
own personal stomping grounds.
If Joe Prospect is a phone call guy, give him a call. If he prefers email, use that to your
advantage. If he’s a social butterfly, maybe you follow up via Facebook or Twitter. It’s his
world; you’re just trying to live in it.
The important thing to remember is that it’s all on the table — phone, text, email, snail
mail, social media. Use whatever works. The more touch points you use, the better chance
you have of staying top of mind.
5. Track Everything
If you really want to understand the effectiveness of your sales process, you have to track
everything — when follow-ups were attempted, when contacts were made, how the
prospects responded, etc. Having this information in your database gives everyone in
your company a big-picture view of the buyer’s journey as it relates to your process.
