Dr Ruth White was commissioned to produce a collection of
photographs and a zine that would make the child visible as part
of the Greater Manchester Pathways to Talking Project. Deborah
James, Professor of Educational Psychology and Amanda Ravetz, a
Research Professor in Manchester School of Art collaborated with
Ruth to develop the zine to picture the child into being in the
context of the region’s communities. Ruth completed her PhD
research in 2018 about the representation of the British Working
Classes in the Photobook at Manchester School of Art.
