Our drink of the season is this lime & coconut
flavoured syrup, mixed with sparkling water or soda
(or still water, if you’re not into fizz). Pretty up with
mint, shavings of coconut, loads of lime and ice and

fresh mint and a wedge of
lime to dicky it up.
Move over G&T, it’s time for a spritzer. The new
Duchess Spritz doesn’t need much doing to it ... just
pour into an ice-filled wine glass and you’re good to
party. There are two flavours of this de-alcoholised
wine spritzer ... Elderflower White (crisp, sparkling
and refreshing, with a definite wine ‘tang’) and Berry
Rose (pink, sweeter … add a strawberry to the glass
for a pretty touch). Both at local supermarkets like Spar,

case of four. • We’re massive fans of the Monin range
of syrups ... which add all sorts of exciting options to
our mocktails. Our latest craze is the Mojito – born in
the sultry bars of Havana, it’s a sexy drink made with a
simple syrup muddled with lime and mint leaves and
local rum. For our non-hangover version, we take the
easy way out and use this delicious Monin Mojito/
Wild Mint Syrup (available in one litre bottles, so we
never run out) added to soda or club soda with a good
squeeze of lime. Decorate with fresh mint leaves from
the garden and it’s all hola-Havana-nights. R180 from

spirit to arrive on the shelves. Three options ...
Original (a floral blend of botanicals), Amber (a spiced
cane dark roast – think dark roasted coffee, cocoa,
liquorice, tonka beans and toffee), and Pink (all fresh
raspberries in flavour). Serve with tonic water, ice and
garnished with a few sprigs of lavender and juniper
