what is chinmaya?

Chinmaya Mission is a spiritual organization that teaches the Hindu philosophy

Vedanta to various age groups, starting from toddlers all the way to seniors

Swami Tapovanam

Sri Swami Tapovanam Maharaj, a Vedanta

scholar, is considered one of the most renowned

sages of the 20th century. His teachings indicated

the Truth of Self-knowledge, and Swamiji was

described as "a God without temple, a Veda

without language" by his student, Swami

Chinmayananda.

Swami Chinmayananda

Sri Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati was a

Hindu spiritual leader and teacher, and inspired

the formation of Chinmaya Mission. As a

member of the Freedom Movement in his young

adult years, Swamiji later discovered the path of

spirituality and devotion. His legacy remains with

one simple goal: discovering Eternal within.

Sri Swami Tejomayanda Saraswati was

appointed as Head of Chinmaya Mission

Worldwide in 1993. Swamiji worked endlessly to

complete the vision of his Guru - Swami

Chinmayananda. Swamiji initiated major

projects, and has written over 100 books on the

Vedanta.

Swami Swaroopananda

In 2017, Sri Swami Swaroopananda was

bestowed with the privilege to serve as Head of

Chinmaya Mission Worldwide. In an era filled

with spiritual skepticism, Swamiji uses his

authentic and vibrant voice to touch eager

listeners in London, New York, Sydney,

Singapore, Dubai, and other diverse regions.

What is Balavihar?

The Sunday Program, globally

recognized as Balavihar, is a

spiritual, value-based and familyoriented

education program.

Although 'Bala vihar' in Hindi

translates directly to

'kindergarten', these classes are

designed for all age groups -

toddlers, seniors and everyone in

between. The classes teach the

'art of living' concepts of

Vedanta, providing individuals

from any background the

practical means for spiritual

growth and happiness.

Currently, Chinmaya Bharati

holds these classes every Sunday

at 10:30AM on Zoom.

to empower young adults with

the vision and values for

success in all aspects of life,

through discussions and

practice of Vedanta. Our
