2 Cups Karo Syrup 2oz. Chlorine Bleach 

2 Pinches Epson Salt ½t Boraz or Sodium Orate 

Procedure… 

Fill a 2-gallon bucket to within an inch or two of the 

top with HOT water and add the preservative 

ingredients, mixing thoroughly. After making a 

fresh cut on the tree trunk 1 or 2 inches from the 

bottom, immediately stand the truck of the 

tree in this solution. Store in protected area 

outdoors, a garage, a carport, or an apartment 

balcony until bringing the tree indoors for 

trimming. (Overnight is best.) When 

the tree is trimmed, fill the well of the 

tree and stand to the top with the 

solution from the bucket, using a plastic cup. 

The well must be kept filled to the top 

everyday without exception to ensure 

that the tree is fireproofed.

10-year old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a 

table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him. “How

at what she saw. There, placed neatly beside the empty

squash, halved and seeded 

2 large onions 

1 small garlic bulb 

1/4 c. olive or vegetable oil 

2 tbls. fresh minced thyme or 

2 t. dried thyme 

3 1/2 cups of chicken broth 

Directions 

Cut squash into 8 large pieces. Place cut side 

up in a 15x10x1” baking pan. Cut 1/4” off tops 

of onions and garlic bulbs. Place cut side up in 

baking pan. Brush with oil; sprinkle with thyme. 

Cover tightly and bake at 350° for 1 1/2 - 2 

hours or until vegetables are very tender. Uncover 

and let stand until lukewarm. Remove peel from 

squash and onions; remove soft garlic from skins. 

Combine vegetables, broth and cream in small 

batches in a blender or food processor until 

smooth. Transfer to large saucepan. Add parsley, 

salt & pepper. Heat through (do not boil). Garnish 

with thyme or pumpkin seeds if desired.
