I am lucky to have been a witness only to ‘luxury gender<br />
issues’ and, while we must continue to fight the visible and<br />
invisible problems that are the subject of this book until<br />
we achieve true gender equality, let us not forget that there<br />
are women in the world facing a much more tangible fight.<br />
Supporting and protecting them must be our highest priority.<br />
Women’s Aid is a federation of over 180 organisations<br />
working to end domestic abuse – 1.4 million women per year<br />
experience abuse and three women a fortnight are killed <strong>by</strong> their<br />
male partner or former partner. Domestic abuse has escalated<br />
further since Covid-19.<br />
