annette blair

Annette Blair’s production works are a shop favourite. Their variety of colour and design

makes them perfect for any home. The luxe vase comes in two classic designs, the bottle

and vase, and during the making process the piece is rolled through silver leaf to give the

work its sparkly touch! The softies bowl features delicate curves and a smooth surface

giving the piece a beautiful tactile finish.

robert schwartz

Robert Schwartz is an emerging glass artist and current studio tenant at Canberra Glassworks. His

production works incorporate simple colour application with refined designs for the home. The milk

jug is particularly popular – their intimate design and carefully shaped spout gives them character

and charm. When the milk bottle shape is complete, a hot spot is made on the edge of the vessel

and a metal tool is used to push a spout from the inside out! Coming into warmer months, we think a

cool drink poured from this beautiful jug and cup sets would be super refreshing!

ruth allen

Ruth Allen is a Melbourne artist with a

broad studio practice that incorporates

functional pieces, jewellery and lighting.

Working with hot glass for 32 years, her

pieces are refined and exquisitely made. Allen

regularly upcycles glass bottles, reheating and

opening them to make lighting and tableware

that captures the colour and textures on

the original bottles in new and modern

adaptations. These particular coloured vases

incorporate the subtle but recognisable

colours of the Australian landscape.

belinda toll

If you’ve visited Canberra

Glassworks, its likely you’ve seen

Belinda Toll being hotshop assistant

extraordinaire. She is always in the

studio assisting many local and

national artists making work in the

hotshop. But she also makes her own

beautiful range of bowls and vases

featuring an elegant silhouette in

striking colours. The dollop series has

a transparent colour with a ‘dollop’ of

opaque, creating a variation in tone

and a sense of movement throughout

the piece.

studio onefive

Studio OneFive is the production work of prominent

designer, maker and sculptor Scott Chaseling. The

use of vibrant overlapping colour blocks makes these

an absolute stand out piece. Blown in the hotshop,

these pieces have squares of coloured glass rolled into

the starter bubble when hot to give the pixel effect.

The pixel pot and tower are some of Studio OneFive’s

newer designs, alongside the most loved Pug and

Puglette jugs, also in store. Scott is a highly skilled

glass blower well known for his highly technical large

scale sculptures and installations and we are loving

having these bold eye catching pieces in store.

highlight of 2020 for us here at Canberra Glassworks. These

friendly little creatures come in a huge range of colours

and are a popular little gift or pocket friend. Luna is a well

known and much loved member of our glass community with

35 years experience. Her practice incorporates sketching,

modelling, carving and casting and she most commonly

makes animals or abstracted figures.

emma young

Emma Young is an emerging Adelaide based glass artist and JamFactory associate. Her playful

and bright work brings colour and fun into the home. These penny pinchers have been made to

incorporate the colours of the Australian dollar notes, blown in the hotshop and then softly shaped

to give the slight pinch at the top of the piece. A great way to collect all that loose change, and then

the cash will just pour out when you need. A wonderful gift for someone who might need to do some

saving!
