And one of the best placesto do that is on Rustic Road 60 (also known asCounty Highway K), which travels east for 12miles from just south of Boulder Junction to theneighboring community of Star Lake. Along theway, you’ll pass former logging camps, an oldsawmill and several Northwoods lakes.On the hiking trails: If you’d like to take in BoulderJunction’s fall color at a little slower pace, find a hikingtrail to explore. With plenty of trails to discover at placeslike the North Lakeland Discovery Center or the vastNorthern Highland-American Legion State Forest, you’vegot no lack of options for a scenic stroll. See a list of areahiking trails on page 9.On the biking trails: Tackle single-track mountain biketrails or enjoy a paved paradise—the choice is yours inBoulder Junction. Our bike trails will take you throughbeautiful scenery wherever you choose to ride. The Heartof Vilas County Paved Bike Trail stretches for more than50 miles across the Northwoods, including a segmentthat travels through Boulder Junction.
