A ponte romana da época restante

atravessando a Ribeira de Loriga

Loriga foi fundada ao longo de uma coluna entre

ravinas onde hoje existe o centro histórico. O site foi

ostensivamente selecionou mais de 2600 anos atrás,

devido à sua defensibility, a abundância de água e

pastagens potável e terras baixas que forneceu

condições para praticar a caça e coleta / agricultura.

Quando os romanos chegaram à região, a liquidação

foi concentrado em duas áreas. A aglomeração maior,

mais antigo e principal situava-se na área da igreja

principal e Rua de Viriato , fortificada com uma

parede e paliçada . O segundo grupo, no Bairro de

São GINÉS , foram algumas pequenas casas

construídas no promintory rochoso, que foram mais

tarde apropriado pelos visigodos , a fim de construir

uma capela. A estrada romana século 1 e duas pontes

(o segundo foi destruído no século 16 após a

inundação na Ribeira de São Bento) conectado o
