BA IN ART HISTORY
As an Art History major, you will develop a strong fundamental understanding of the discipline. The curriculum covers
a wide range of fields from ancient and classical to contemporary and nonwestern. Courses in methodology provide
instruction art history theory, and training in studio art offers insight into the techniques of the artist. You will visit and
study the collections of museums, galleries and auction houses and gain firsthand experience through internships. All
students are encouraged to study abroad for at least a semester and develop their proficiency in a foreign language.
Qualified students are invited to pursue honors in art history.

“As the Curatorial Intern at the Museum of the City of New York, I
worked directly with Dr. Weber, Curator of Paintings and Sculptures, to assess the
artwork in the collection, develop exhibitions, and network with other museum
professionals. Through my time at the museum, I gained actual work experience in a
museum environment that augmented the knowledge I gained in school. I graduated
feeling confident with my resume and excited for my future! Thank you MMC!”
