Pastor’s Last Pondering……
“We walk by faith and not by sight”, so says
St. Paul in today’s second reading. To walk
by faith is to order our steps in God’s ways.
To walk by faith is to follow where God leads
knowing that each step we take, each task we
undertake, will be life-giving when supported by faith in our
God’s love for us. St. Paul lived his life with profound gratitude
because he knew first-hand that walking in faith was
to let God lead. This way of living produced great courage
which St. Paul harnessed throughout his ministry. St.
Paul’s faith life reminds you and me that walking with faith,
trusting always in God’s providence, produces the hope to
move us through everything with joyful confidence.
Today, I walk in faith as I say goodbye to you and move to
my new assignment in California. I must admit though,
that walking in faith these last few weeks has not been
easy. Packing and saying goodbye has been difficult as I
have felt a part of this Parish Community for the last six
years. In my thoughts and prayers I have relived so many
wonderful moments and conversations, events and remembrances
that I have been privileged to have shared in.
In all of these, and so many more, I have seen and experienced
the power of the Lord. Being among you and sharing
the good work that this Parish does in fulfillment of the
Lord’s command, has strengthened my faith and encouraged
me to continuing walking in faith. Your support, encouragement,
and friendship has greatly blessed my life.
For this I will be forever grateful.
Many times over the last six years I have thanked you for
being a great parish. I believe that you are. I hope you
believe this as well. Like all parishes, we have our challenges,
but with determination, resolve, and faith in the
Lord, you will meet these challenges with hope, which is
characteristic of this great community of faith.
I am grateful for so many Parishioners, Parish Staff, and
my Servite brothers who have assisted me in the ministry.
I am grateful for their challenges, their support and their
love for the Parish. These gave me the courage in my
ministry. I know that Fr. Paul Gins, OSM, you new Pastor
will serve you very well. Please welcome him and support
him as you did me.
I leave SHF a grateful and blessed man. Grateful for the
support and friendships that will continue to grace my life.
Blessed because I have had the profoundly awesome opportunity
to minister to, and be ministered by the best Parish
Community a Pastor could ever want. Let us continue
to pray for each other. Let us continue to walk in faith and
be Christ to each other. This is the strength of this wonderful
Parish. I pray that God will continue richly to bless
all of you and may Our Lady watch over you on the way of
life.

Principal’s Corner
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the
Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to
give you a future and a hope.” -Jeremiah 29:11
The above quote from Jeremiah was the School’s theme
several years ago and one that the Servite Friars are all
quite familiar with. I believe that while we do not have all
the answers or know what the future will hold, we do know it
will be one of great hope and promise.
Next week will be my last column as Principal of Seven
Holy Founders School. I will be moving over to the Parish
full-time. What exactly will I be doing? That still has to be
finalized with Fr. Paul Gins, OSM, the new Pastor. I do
know that I will try to spend more time working on the
Alumni records of Seven Holy Founders School and getting
them updated. I hope to include in the Bulletin, during the
summer, the names of graduates that I do not have any addresses
for.
It has been a great honor and pleasure to have served this
Parish Community as the Principal of Seven Holy Founders
School. We, in working together, have accomplished a tremendous
amount of good things in the last 4 years. Hopefully,
many more good things will be done on the Seven
Holy Founders Campus of Holy Cross Academy.
As we end the School Year and begin summer vacations, a
few School/Classroom jokes:
Teacher: Students, you have forty minutes to write an essay
on a soccer match.
Richard: (After two minutes) Here's my paper, sir.
Teacher: What did you manage to write so quickly?
Richard: Match called off due to rain.
Teacher: What was the greatest accomplishment of the
early Romans?
Pupil: Speaking Latin!

SHF PARISH BINGO NEEDS YOU!!!
It’s been almost 2 years since we began BINGO at SHF
and thanks to the generosity of the classes of 2011 and
2012 the BINGO equipment has been paid in full early,
making every BINGO more profitable, but we need your
help. We are currently looking for 6 people to work in a
variety of spots for our July 5 th BINGO. In addition this is
how we would like to handle our workers in the future.
We are asking each person to be part of a team consisting
of 8 people. Each team will work 2 Bingos over the
course of the year. You can create your own team, or just
let us know if you would like to be assigned to a team.

looking for an individual to run and close the concession

Divine Word Missionaries

Fr. Tom Krosnicki, SVD of the Divine
Word Missionaries is with us this
weekend. Fr. Tom is a member of
the Divine Word Missionaries, and
International Religious Community of 6,100 missionary
Priests & Brothers who serve in 70 countries. Fr. Tom will
celebrating some of the Masses this weekend and be
speaking about the Order of Saint Peter Apostle that supports
the education of Priests studying in foreign missions
around the world. Fr. Tom has served as a missionary in
Papua New Guinea, and on the Island of St. Maarten in
the Caribbean. He has also served as the Provincial of
the Divine Word Missionaries for 3 years, and served in
pastoral and administrative ministry in Washington, DC
for many years. Fr. is a native of Wisconsin and currently
serves as the Chaplain of the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters
at Mount Grace Convent, St. Louis, Missouri. Please
welcome Fr. Tom and please be generous in the second
collection this weekend to support their missionary work.
The Divine Word Missionaries serve in some to the most
difficult mission areas around our world.
FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM
The U.S. Bishops have called for June 21st-July 4th to be
observed as a “Fortnight for Freedom”, a time of prayer and
fasting for the protection of religious liberty, which is threatened
by the Health and Human Services Mandate requiring
contraceptive coverage in health insurance plans without
adequate conscience protection. (For detailed info. see
archstl.org/liberty). This is a fitting time period since it begins
on the vigil of Saints John Fisher & Thomas More, and
includes the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist
(June 24th), feast of Saints Peter & Paul (June 29th), and
all of whom witnessed to their faith in the face of political
opposition, and ends on the birthday of our country’s independence.
Prayer cards are available at the Church entrances.
Join wholeheartedly in prayer & fasting, asking
God to “secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our
posterity.”
Your Help is needed for Holy Cross Academy
As most of you know Annunciation School is going to become Holy Cross Academy Middle School next fall. In order to
make this transition there are many things that need to be accomplished in the school before August 16. This is why we
are asking for the assistance of parishioners and especially all middle school parents. We have a list of items to complete
and we have been meeting with Amie Koenen, the President of Holy Cross Academy, and representatives of St.
Michael’s , Our Lady of Providence and Seven Holy Founders. In these meetings we have prioritized each item as to
importance. We are planning to have a meeting at Annunciation Campus on June 19 at 7:00 PM of all who are interested
to help with these tasks. We are asking everyone, and again, especially the Middle School parents to plan on attending
this meeting. This will be a great opportunity for all High School Students to obtain needed service hours. We
will attempt to keep this meeting short and focused on the tasks that need to be completed before the start of school.
There will be similar meetings held at the other campus locations to address all needs at these locations. Thank you in
advance for your help and we all understand that to make Holy Cross Academy be successful it will be truly a team effort.
