Están diseñados para proteger a los equipos de su entorno de posiblesfallas o irregularidades en el suministro eléctrico.Durante estos años han evolucionado en su forma, por lo general conectados a un tomacorriente.La Toma Protector es un producto que, luego de un largo proceso de diseñoe ingeniería, logró integrar las funciones de un protector de voltaje en el tamaño de untomacorriente doméstico, ofreciendo la posibilidad de proteger todos los equipos desu entorno indistintamente del tomacorriente donde quieras conectarlo.Las características físicas de su diseño permiten conectar y proteger dos equipos simultáneamente,posee un atractivo indicador luminoso de funcionamiento, que a suvez cumple la función de luz guía o de compañía y además, una vez instalado, puedautilizar cualquiera de sus tapas decorativas más comerciales para combinarlo con elentorno en donde se encuentre».
