CRICKET UPDATE
With large amounts of spring rainfall, we
have been off to a very slow start to the
2020/21 cricket season. Unfortunately,
at the time of writing, the A grade have
been washed out twice and have not taken
the field, while the B’s and C’s have both
started the season with a 0-1 record.
OSCA were able to still hold our
presentation evening in early October
for the 2019/20 season, long delayed
after COVID stopped us from holding
our presentations back in March.
Congratulations to Nathan Fox (‘06) on
taking out his 5th Club Champion award,
as well as Harry White (‘10) and Justin
Wight on becoming Life Members.
We would also like to announce the
leadership positions with Nathan Fox (‘06),
Jono Lagonik (‘10) and Adam Niederer (‘91)
as captains of the A, B, and C Grade teams
respectively. We are also pleased with the
young group coming through at the club.
After making a big push to re-engage with
recent Old Collegians, it’s great to see Joel
Tilbrook (‘17) join us as well as some current
Year 12s flagging their interest in playing
cricket at Old Scotch once they have
completed their studies.
We would also like you all to save the date
for our past players/premiership reunion
day for the 16 January 2021. We will be
celebrating our 1970/71 (A), 1980/81 (C),
1990/91 (A), 2000/01 (B) and 2005/05 (A)
premierships. It’s always a great day at the
club and we would love to see as many past
players and supporters there as possible.
While it has been a slow start to the
2020/21 season, we are excited for the
season that lies ahead for Old Scotch.

OLD COLLEGIANS
FOOTBALL UPDATE
It was a tricky year for all sports thanks to
everyone’s favourite pandemic, but we
were lucky enough to play an abbreviated
season beginning early in July. I can’t thank
our sponsors enough for sticking with the
club and supporting us, particularly our
major sponsor The Ed. We were thrilled
to see some terrific crowds out at home
games, and we were lucky to commemorate
Indigenous Round, Past Players Day and
several other traditional club events.
It was a tough season in terms of results,
with the A Grade side finishing with 3 wins
from 9 games to finish in 8th place in the
ladder (Division 2). The B Grade (Division
2 Reserves) also finished with
3 wins and 7th place on the ladder and
the C Grade (Division C2) went 3 wins from
8 games to place 6th. We did however
enjoy an excellent year in terms of player
development, welcoming a massive number
of recent College leavers into the Old Coll
ranks, punctuated by one game featuring 19
Old Collegians in a 22-man side.
Our annual Best & Fairest presentation
was a great success. Scott Spriggs was the
2020 A Grade B&F – well done Scott! Matt
Parfumi collected the honour for the B
Grade while Matthew Box won the award
for the C Grade. We also introduced a new
annual award for the club, recognising the
Best Player Under 23. Charlie Morgan was
the inaugural award winner! You can see all

Our 2021 coaching group has been
confirmed and pre-season will have just
kicked off by the time you read this. Kym
Cobb will again be at the helm for the A
Grade, Brenton Hales will coach the B
Grade and Jono Lagonik (’10) will take on
the C Grade job.
Congratulations to the Scotch Women’s
team on their successful season, leading to
a promotion of 2 divisions over last season!
