Transition to the Juniors
The majority of children will join us from Strand Infants in Year 2; we work hard to
make the short move across the playground as smooth as possible,
Our transition programme builds independence, supporting children to face
change in a secure environment, providing vital practice for the next big move to
secondary school.
Smooth Transition
Our comprehensive program of transition activities are designed to make sure your
families’ transition to life at Strand Juniors is a smooth one. Behind the scenes we
work closely with our Infant colleagues to make sure we know your child well even
before they join us.
Secure Start
We want every child to make a secure start and so when your child joins us our
focus is on establishing expectations, developing routines and building
independence. Our experienced, talented team are always on hand to listen, offer
support, encouragement and guidance as your child settles in. We value the strong
relationships we build with our community; everyone who joins us becomes a
member of the wider Strand family whose voice is listened to and appreciated.
