Ambition for All: Striving for Equity
We value children’s opinions,
and encourage them to take an
active role in determining change
and driving improvements in
their school.
Class Councils meet regularly
chaired by children.
Democratic decisions made in the
Class Council influence the
working of the class whilst wider
issues are referred on to the
School Council.
We run mock general elections
that teach children about British
democracy, taking the opportunity
to prepare them to be citizens of
the future.
Personal Development
We want our children to learn to be their own person, to think and act
independently yet always consider others, making the right choices even when no
one is watching.
Encouraging social harmony, we develop respect for the beliefs of all members of
the Strand community. We want every Strandite to be an active member of their
community and experience the bond of shared values that unite and guide us.
In so doing they will experience what it means to be part of something bigger
than themselves, learn to get along together and feel the pride of belonging to
our school.
