Parkland/Westman Regional Report November, 2003 URIS- Continues to be an issue. A number of divisions are involved hi pilots with their Regional Health Authorities, hopefully this will alleviate the problems the region is experiencing with the URIS implementation. Amalgamation implications- Amalgamation has provided the opportunity to create curriculum coordinator position in the rural area. Westman/Parkland SSAAM are including the curriculum coordinators in the regional meetings. Common interest and issues are discussed first on the agenda and then the group separates to address area specific agenda items. The group is looking into formerly organizing itself. The region hosted parent meetings with parents who have agreed to review the "Transition into School Handbook for Parents" the department has developed in partnership with SSAAM.
