1 2 3 4 5 Active IQ Level 2 Award in Instructing Physical Activity for Children INTRODUCTION This qualification is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to plan, prepare and deliver safe and effective physical activity sessions for children aged 5 – 11 years and 11- 15 years. Learners are also given an understanding of the legal and professional requirements, including safeguarding when leading physical activity sessions for children. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Learners must hold a suitable Level 2 fitness instructing qualification, for example: • Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing. • Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Group Training. • Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing. • Certificate in Leading Health Related Activity Sessions; coaching qualification or equivalent. Some experience of working with children is useful. QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE The learner must complete the one mandatory unit: • Unit 1: Planning and instructing physical activity for children (F/618/3445). ASSESSMENT This qualification is assessed by: • Coursework. • Practical demonstration/assignment. 1 2 3 4 5 Active IQ Level 2 Award in Instructing Suspended Movement Training INTRODUCTION This qualification aims to train learners who already have knowledge and skills in fitness instruction to be able to plan and deliver safe and effective suspended movement exercises and training sessions. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS The learner must hold a suitable Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing qualification or equivalent. Some experience of suspended movement training is useful. QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE The learner must complete: • Unit 1: Planning a suspended movement training exercise session (R/505/5345). • Unit 2: Instructing a suspended movement training exercise session (Y/505/5346). ASSESSMENT This qualification is assessed by: • Coursework. • Practical demonstration/assignment.
