Foreword
Who are we?
Le Jardin Retrouvé is a French Maison de
Haute Parfumerie, independent and familyrun.
It was created in 1975 by Yuri Gutsatz,
acclaimed Master Perfumer and initiator of
the Niche Perfumery. In 2016, his son and his
family reinvented the Maison while keeping
Yuri’s delicate formulas and historical
suppliers.
Our Mission
For 45 years, we have been offering you
moments of pleasure and comfort, thanks
to our fragrances created in our Paris
Laboratory, with sustainability in mind & at
a fair price.

Your candle
It was made in the purest French tradition
- perfume created in Paris, candles cast in
Grasse, lids made of natural Jura wood, and
Limoges fine porcelain, hand enameled.
After 40 hours of scented pleasure, you can
reuse the extraordinary container in many
ways!
Your choice
We decided to reissue three candles from
our House’s iconic scents: Cuir de Russie,
Rose Trocadero, and Tuberose Trianon. The
fourth, Mousse Mystique (Mystic Moss), was
created by our talented young perfumer,
Maxence Moutte.

Chapter 1
Starting
Your Candle
For your candle to last for a long time, it must
be left to burn for at least an hour, although
two hours is even better.
The wax should melt evenly, otherwise there
will be a tunnel that will form around the wick
and the wax on the sides will be lost. What a
waste!
Two hours is also the optimal time for your
room to be well scented. So, no excuses,
take your time when it comes to enjoying
your candle.

Chapter 2
Extinguishing
your Candle
To extinguish your candle without it releasing
harmful fumes (and triggering your fire
alarm!) do not blow the flame.
Our advice is to take a small plate and put it
on the candle to smother it.
If you are prone to aesthetic pleasures, avoid
moving the candle once it is extinguished, or
do it with the utmost care, so the wax does
not spill or become uneven.

Chapter 3
Trimming
your wick
In order to keep your candle burning properly,
you have to trim the wick. It should be no
higher than ½ inch, or 1 cm.
Our advice is to just use a pair of household
scissors!

Reusing
your Candle
It is our belief that elegance is timeless
and waste is undesirable. Therefore, we
have produced beautiful handmade Limoges
porcelain bowls to encase our hand poured in
Grasse candles. Here is what you can do with
them.

When the candles are completely burnt (40
hours), put the bowl in the freezer for at least
an hour.
When you shake it down, the rest of the wax
will automatically fall (very satisfying!).
Put the bowl in the dishwasher and the smell
will disappear.
You can put anything you like in these elegant
little bowls, even food and drink, and yes, they
are microwave safe too! Enjoy!
