How to Set up Outdoor Gym Equipment: Step-by-Step Procedure

Having your own outdoor gym equipment not only saves you costs but also benefits you through

the exercise you get from the procedure of an outdoor workout setup. The outdoor gym setup

starts with deciding the equipment and tools you need and then making the installation.

This blog explains how to set up outdoor gym equipment and the step-by-step procedure you

need to follow.

The fitness equipment I can recommend for your outdoor gym setup is a push-up bar and parallel

bars.

Requirements

• A location that’s appropriate for your outdoor workout setup

• Sturdy and strong materials

• Weatherproof materials that can stand the test of time

Tools and Items

• 2 wooden posts for support

• Hacksaw

• Steel bar

• Bolts and washers

• Electric drill

• Concrete

• A bin for making the concrete mixture

• 4-foot level

• Shovel

• Tape measure

Outdoor gym Setup Step-by-Step Procedure

Step 1:

Dig the holes on the ground for the posts. The holes should be about 3-4 feet deep and have a

diameter of 12 inches.

Step 2:

Use a hacksaw to cut two 32 inches long wooden posts for your push up bar. Then drill 31/2 inch

to 4-inch holes in the wooden posts for the bar. Use an electric drill. The holes should be about 2

inches from the top of the wooden posts.

Step 3:

Mix concrete for the post hole using a shovel and water, ensuring that you get a mixture of

medium consistency. Put the posts in the holes and have someone hold them for you in place as

you pour in the concrete. Fill the holes to the ground level then use a 4 – foot level to ensure they

are straight and in line with each other. Leave the concrete to dry overnight.

Step 4:

You can check the following day to see if the concrete has dried. If it has, pass your steel bar

through the holes at the top of the first and the second wooden push-up posts.

Step 5:

Use a spanner to wind- in the bolts and washers, fixing the bar in the support posts in place.

Finally, your pull up station is ready for use!

Parallel bars

Parallel bars are almost similar to the above outdoor gym setup. You can use the same procedure

to make parallel bars. The fitness equipment is used for dipping exercises. The only difference in

the outdoor workout setup is the use of shorter posts.

The length should be 5 feet high above the ground and 21/2 feet below the ground. You also

need to install two sets of bars in parallel and about shoulder width apart.

The outdoor gym equipment you select will depend on your body type and the kind of exercises

you need to get into perfect shape. Think about having an outdoor workout setup in your

backyard as it will help you enjoy the benefits of outdoor exercise.
