But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on
wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
- Isaiah 40:31
This is where learning
comes to life for your child
For our youngest learners, CHCA is more than your child’s school;
it’s a vibrant and caring learning family where your child will be
celebrated as a unique gift from God.
Employing an approach
inspired by the
Reggio-Emilia
philosophy, children
explore, discover,
question, observe, and
construct meaning
through a hands-on,
project-based curriculum.
And by integrating
scripture lessons with the
wonder of exploring
God’s world, we build a
foundation for lifelong
learning and faith.

PLAY, LEARN
AND GROW
beyond the classroom walls.
It’s hard to contain children's natural energy and
curiosity - so why try to contain it? That’s why we
built an outdoor playscape for our youngest
learners. We want to make it possible to play,
learn, and grow beyond the classroom walls.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics,
play inspires creativity and develops imagination,
dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional
strength. It’s important for healthy brain
development, and it’s how little minds engage and
interact with the world around them. Oh, and most
important, it’s fun!
Actually, ALL spaces and programming at CHCA
are designed with one goal in mind, that each child
will flourish.
PIAZZA [pyaht-tse]
SOUNDS FANCY,
DOESN'T IT?
A Piazza is known as an open square or public place in a city or
town, CHCA's Piazza is just such a gathering place. In this large,
vibrant, light-filled gathering space, you and your child will enjoy
everything from trike rides down the indoor path to yoga, to
chapel, parent coffees and more.

Guided by caring Christian teachers, your Kindergarten student will build foundational
skills in literacy, problem solving, creative expression, scientific exploration, and more,
while discovering his or her God-given gifts. Our experiential learning approach celebrates
and encourages questions, and gives your student the tools to seek the answers.
As our youngest students strengthen both
their minds & their faith, they are prepared
intellectually, socially, and spiritually
for the next step in their learning journey.

Just got home from my last Intersession trip with CHCA.
Can’t believe this part of my life is ending as graduation is just
a few months away. This year, I went to Greece and Italy with 50 of my
classmates and a few teachers. Each place we visited was unique, providing
bucket list items to check off daily:
• experiencing places where Paul stood trial and declared the
gospel in Corinth and Athens
• visualizing the gladiators in the Coliseum and Julius Caesar
at the Roman Forum
• learning about the rich history of the Catholic Church at
the Vatican while spending a few hours awestruck at
St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel
• exploring Florence, walking miles to see beautiful views,
churches, and historic artwork like Michelangelo’s David
• taking a gondola ride in Venice as the sun set over the
canals of this unique city
It’s fair to say that four years of Intersession have had a huge impact on my
life. As a freshman, I experienced living with a rural Incan family in Peru. Then
experiencing what it’s like to completely unplug from the world, as a
sophomore, I “survived” a two-week survival trip on a remote island in Florida.
Last year, I learned not only how to use power tools, but the importance of
having a home when we built a house with Habitat for Humanity in Laredo,
Texas. And now this year’s trip.
I don’t view the world or myself in the same way after doing and seeing these
things. My world has expanded from Cincinnati, Ohio to continents and people
miles away. I have seen the remains of the Incan, Greek, and Roman Empires in a
real way that goes beyond the classroom. I’ve learned that I can find God in the
mountains of Peru, on a walk on the beach or in the splendor of the Vatican.
I know college is going to be great, but every January, I’m going
to wish I was back at CHCA doing something amazing with Intersession. You’re
so lucky that you have four years of it
ahead of you!
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed
- Upper School Student
At CHCA, learning and faith inspire and reinforce each other.
You wll find CHCA's curriculum carefully integrates meaningful
reflections upon Christian faith into every discipline, as our quest
for God fuels intellectual curiosity and our academic pursuits teach
us more about God's world. Students and teachers worship,
contemplate, and celebrate alongside one another at weekly chapel
services. We pray together - in class, in the hallway, on the playing
field. And we live out our faith through service to others.

IT?
WHAT TIME IS IT?
A. In London, it’s 7:55 p.m.
B. In Tokyo, it’s 3:55 a.m.
C. At CHCA, it’s 2:55 p.m. and our doors are
open to students from around the world.
D. All of the above.
It’s a big world out there, but with the city’s largest high
school International Student Program, CHCA makes it
feel a little closer to home. We welcome nearly 40
students from around the world to learn and live
alongside our students.
ANSWER - D
120, 233, 70, 31, 25,000…
At CHCA, numbers tell a story.
LOTS OF STORIES ACTUALLY.
Take for example, Leon. Leon is one of the 70 leaders of 31 Student Organized Service (SOS) groups who pursue
needs they’re passionate about—tutoring underserved children, providing clean water to schools in a third world
country, supporting women in Kenya, or addressing homelessness in our city, to name a few. Students meet these
needs by educating their peers, finding creative ways to fundraise, giving their time, and building relationships.
In fact, each CHCA student is required to complete 120 service hours for graduation, but most do more—one
recent class racked up over 25,000 hours, which averaged 233 per graduate.
These students have
shown that you can
make a difference
at any age.
It starts with SOS Juniors in the Lower School who are discovering needs in the community and what it means to
serve others. They are paired with Upper School SOS leaders as they learn about the world through the eyes of
Christ, develop relationships, and further the Kingdom of God. Upper School students also have a wide range of
service immersion options, which challenge students to get out of their comfort zones and engage in service and
other cultures. Numbers like 31 and 25,000 are a simple representation of the soul that runs through CHCA, but
behind each number are hundreds of hearts eager to change the world.
CHCA'S SPORTS PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
EAGLES IN TRAINING
It’s easy to get caught up in the moment of game
day, and to forget all of the work that occurs
behind the scenes. But any successful athlete or
coach will tell you that the work put in on an early
weekday morning, or in the extra hours after
practice, makes all the difference in the outcome
of a season. A major part of how well an athlete
will perform, is how they train and take care of
themselves – their bodies, minds, and spirits.
The parallels among academics, service, fine arts,
and athletics take many different forms from
school to school, but at CHCA, you will find
excellence throughout. The difference with
CHCA student-athletes: they are being
challenged to think critically during an AP
Chemistry block bell the same way they do at their
6:00 a.m. performance workouts. When you talk
about committing to a culture of champions, look
no further. CHCA student-athletes stay on top
with high academic rigor, continual service, and
championship caliber seasons.

True or False:
Students can't be trusted
with free time during
the school day.
Answer: False
At CHCA's Upper School, students in grades
9-12 get "Personal Responsibility Time," 48
minutes each day to spend doing whatever
they want—working on group projects in a huddle
room, sketching, working out with the Sports
Performance coach, catching up on homework,
studying in front of the fireplace in the
Collaboration Space, or grabbing a bite to eat
at The Blend Smoothie Bar. In an overscheduled
world, we believe it's important to allow a little
unstructured time and to treat you like the adult
you'll soon be.
P.S. Students in Grades 7-8 get "Student Directed Learning", a free bell at the
end of the day that's designed to give them time to meet with teachers, catch
up on homework, or collaborate with classmates.
Face paint
optional!
From Homecoming to spirit days to road trips to away games,
we’re all about school spirit at CHCA. Something about this
place just makes us want to wear purple, put things in our hair,
write things in all caps on our car windows, and shout as loud
as we can. Painting your face is optional, but don’t be
surprised if you get caught up in the excitement.
FULLY
PREPARED
FOR
WHAT’S
NEXT (and the next thing after that)
FULLY
PREPARED
means something different
here - it’s not just about
doing your best academically
(although that’s important), it
means stretching yourself
socially; cultivating and
learning to defend your faith;
and learning who God
designed you to be instead of
letting the world tell you who
you are.
When you thrive at CHCA, you’re
prepared to thrive not only in
college, but in life.

Letter to my
future self
Dear Claire,
You did it! After years of academic challenges, late
nights, and close friendships, you graduated from CHCA.
This place has done more than simply prepare you for your
future with the necessary tools to succeed academically,
you have been empowered to grow as a leader. Your teachers
encouraged you to pursue your passions, challenged you to
learn beyond the classroom, and inspired you to use
your God-given talents to your fullest potential. You have
been taught the importance of strong values like integrity,
service, and leadership. Your time here has helped you to
question, challenge, and grow stronger in your faith, and I
know that you are prepared for your journey ahead.
I can’t wait to see how the future unfolds,
but you will always be an Eagle at heart.
Love,
Claire
Let’s talk about affording
a CHCA education…
Choosing to invest in a CHCA education is truly an
investment in your child, and we want to help make it a
reality for your family. “How?” you ask.
We’re happy to answer…
Need-based tuition assistance bridges the gap. Using an
outside agency to determine a family’s demonstrated
financial need, tuition assistance awards supplement what
your family can afford to pay, making CHCA affordable for
families across a range of incomes.
Merit-based scholarships reward student achievement.
Upper School students with extraordinary academic
achievement or potential to make a positive impact are
automatically considered for renewable merit scholarships.
Flexible payment options help fit tuition into your monthly
budget. We offer monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and
annual payment plans.
