This is the fifth year of the Live in Lincoln event which will take place on October 17. Festival organiser David Parlane said it will mark a step forward for the event industry which has been extremely hard hit from Covid-19. “Not only just comedians but musicians, bands, quiz shows, you name it, they have all been affected,” he said. “The people behind the scenes who put up the stages, the lighting and the sound. We have a lot of talent in this country they just haven’t had any work.” Parlane said the show will be the fifrst job back in the year for the people who are setting up the stage. The festival will feature comedian Ben Hurley who is best known for his work on TV3’s topical comedy panel show 7 Days. Award-winning comic Alan McElroy, comedian magician Jarred Fell and musical duo Fan Brigade will also perform. Parlane said he is pleased to have some certainty for the show now that we have moved to alert level 1. “It is certainly nice to know that as of right now the show can go on. The new livery design is inspired by the foods and resources shared by early Māori, the natural landscape that connected them, and the mosaic of waterways that formed early travel routes across our region – represented today by the Metro network. Environment Canterbury Councillor Phil Clearwater said that the new livery simplifies Metro’s network for a more approachable, user friendly experience. “We want to make it clearer that this is a single, reliable, connected network that will get you anywhere you need to go in greater Christchurch across the day. “We found that the numerous bus brands were diluting the message of Metro’s connected network, and so we have worked with our bus operators, Go Bus, Red Bus and Ritchies, during the implementation of their new contracts to introduce a single look across all buses. “Our changes are designed to help users right across the network, rather than only those travelling on the Metro Lines – which make up only five of Metro’s 27 routes. “We are also preparing for a future where we will, in time, grow the number of high Is your bus timetable changing? All buses other than the Orbiter will be painted in the new Metro teal colour to represent our strong link to water, an essential life-sustaining force. “The Orbiter will remain in a recognizable green livery, symbolic of the land,” said Councillor Clearwater.
