Oema: Which is the most
exciting part of your SL
work?
Skip: Still the photoshoot,
the contact with my
clients... old clients (some
visit since 2008! and still
come) and also the new
clients, getting to know
them, to talk with them...
Find out about their
wishes and a bit about
how they are...
Just as exciting is their
reaction when I deliver
the photo, mostly they
have to wait long, cause
I never rush work, and
when RL is a lot, that
always goes first, so I
always tell upfront it
can take a long time
before turn back time of
the photo... I am not a
factory; I cannot create
when my head is not right
for it.. It can really touch
me when the photo’s
outcome makes my client
happy and how they react
to it. Feedback is very
important!
Also exciting is that
during the shoot, often
many ideas pop up... I like
to share my ideas with
my client, and it’s great
when they are just as full
with enthusiasm as I am..
And when I start editing,
what I feel with work, and
how it slowly becomes
a true piece, with the
feeling I was going for... I
can feel a true rush goes
through me when I’m on
the roll with editing, pure
excitement.. and can be
so pleased with a newly
created piece, that I keep
looking at it for a long
time, and enjoy a lot.. lol
It can make me feel super
satisfied, I think it’s an
addiction...
Oema: Would you like
to thank someone who
helped you during your
path?
Skip: My clients!!! It all
wouldn’t be so much fun
without them, and then
my photo studio wouldn’t
be here anymore, I think,
after so many years.
Oema: What are your
programs for the future?
Skip: What programs?You
mean programs I work
with, or how I think my sl
photo work will be in the
future?
I work with PS cs6, with
my Wacom drawing
tablet, some plugins
like Filter Forge, NIK
collection, Alien Ware,
PS lightroom. I’m a green
