SKIP
STAHELI
Skip Staheli’s images are compositions.
It is a complex creative mode, in which
several different elements blend into
the scene.
I remember the first time I saw
Skip Staheli’s image: I think
that was the moment when
I realized how fascinating
photography could be in Second
Life. I’ve always had to deal
with photography because, as
a blogger, I believed in making
the most of the art galleries I
visited.
However, Skip Staheli’s images
were quite different: first of
all, they are compositions, so
he assembled several other
elements to create a single
scene. It is a complex creative
mode: I worked on photographic
compositions (real-life and
virtual images), so I know
the difficulty in creating an
image that convinces that it is
not a jumble of elements put
together.
In addition to creating credible
images (in the sense that the
viewer does not realize that
it is a composition, because
the elements harmoniously
blend into the scene), Staheli
has the talent to excite the
viewer. I honestly believe that
this last aspect is the secret
