Van: What message
would you like to convey
to your listeners?
Aley: Gratitude. When I
started singing I never
dreamed it would
become what it has in SL.
It’s down to my listeners
and I will be eternally
grateful to them all.
I hope I can continue
to earn their loyalty
throughout my shows in
the future.
Van: How do you react to
an evening that didn’t go
well?
Aley: My bestie would
tell you how much I beat
myself up over it! If I
haven’t sung well I feel
absolutely terrible that
I’ve let everyone down.
I’m trying to learn not
to be so hard on myself
but I constantly strive for
perfection in my showsmaybe
it’s the brit in
me? Everything has to be
proper and correct!
Aley: The live music
industry in SL is vastly
unfair now with the
disparity between
earnings of singers and
venue owners. Having
run a venue myself
I’m also aware first
hand how expensive it
is- even when singers
don’t put out tip boards,
listeners always tip
them. I wish there could
be a system where the
venue owners also get
tipped the same amount
(or more!) to offset their
rising costs of renting
land, running a venue
and hiring singers.
