all the accompanying
criticisms that often
tease the listener.
In attending an evening
with Aley, from the very
first greeting notes, you
immediately feel at ease,
with her irresistible
giggles here and there,
spontaneous and
friendly, which confirms
how calm she is and has
fun, even before worry
about making a good
performance. Therefore,
this naturalness affirms
the goodness of her
preparation, certainly
made of personal safety
and her remarkable
discipline.
But the fact she performs
flawlessly isn’t enough.
It is necessary to instill
sensations and emotions.
Indeed, misperceptions
are often compensated.
Her distinct voice, her
tone, excites.
Her repertoire, which
it regularly offers in SL,
often changes according
to the land characteristics
that hosts it.
So we can hear her go
from the classic theatrical
musical, sparkling and
representative, to more
intimate and sweet
tones of the soft and
reflective genre, from the
famous cover to the less
established song that
seems to have come out of
her writing.
I have particular
parameters to establish
when a singer is valid: one
of these is to participate
in one of her evenings
and after a while, iconize
the SL viewer and start
doing other things on
the PC, listening to the
headphones.
I had confirmation of her
professionalism with
Aley when immersed in
something else I forgot
I was in SL, and I felt
like I was following a
radio where songs by
official singers and artists
are generally programmed.
And when I remembered
to pursue instead a live
singer performing in SL, I
immediately came to say,
“these songs looked like
records!”.
This one is one of my
parameters of judgment.
When a piece is the result of
the most profound emotions,
then the right “key” has been
found to interpret author’s
music: walking, hand by
hand with the listener, on a
very particular avenue of the
senses, built from “single
portions” music that makes
the whole message.
Aley’s message comes
straight and without
difficulty.
Aley lives in the United
Kingdom and is a refined
artist with uncommon
sensitivity, with
heterogeneous sounds
that have their roots in her
popular tradition but with
an ever-vigilant look at new
trends and what the musical
world offers at the moment.
We at 360GRADI met her
and pleasantly put her under
pressure:
Van: Aley, before starting
the musical discourse, can
you give us a description of
yourself? Personal details,
