ASHBURTON BOWLING CLUB
On March 24, Ashburton Bowling Club, along with the rest of the
country, closed for business for the foreseeable future.
But, as from this past Saturday September 19, we are up and
running again! We may have only one green available to us until
November 27 (because of remedial work on the other green), but
necessary tweaking of fixtureshas ensured that everything is covered.
And, of course, our future is secure also!
Our mayor, Neil Brown, joined executives and members of the
club for our opening day on Saturday. It was aglorious day, sunshine,
little wind, and those who played (we were restricted to six rinks) had
agreat day.
We were started off by our mayor (having made a short but
eloquent speech) bowling the first bowl of the season and it was areal
cracker! Thank you, Mayor Brown, for all your efforts on our behalf.
There was apresentation of the club’s 2019/2020 competition
our Saturday Combined Rollover Triples, start 1.15 pm. There will be
no “home” Friday Triples until November 27.
