With one great joint gasp, the four children<br />
began to run. They each ran as fast as they could,<br />
falling, tripping, getting up, and racing helter-skelter<br />
out of the forest. Surprisingly, they all ended up in<br />
the same clearing where they had begun, where the<br />
pretty Indian girl had told them all about Indian life<br />
400 years ago.<br />
Only now, there was no girl. There was no<br />
one. They realized that the Powhatan Village had<br />
been closed down for the night. They were locked<br />
inside! And no one knew where they were.<br />
There was only a little faint light left in the<br />
western sky.<br />
“Well, this is a fine Howdy Do,” mourned<br />
Christina. “I do NOT want to spend the night in<br />
these woods. There could be bears, or alligators.”<br />
