FOOD & DRINK
Rustenberg John X
Merriman
A brilliant Bordeaux blend showing
red berry fruits, chocolate notes and a
certain, spicy earthiness. John Xavier
Merriman, the last prime minister of
the Cape Colony before the formation
of South Africa, bought land in 1892
that became the beautiful Rustenberg
Estate. Try this rich, ripe, elegant red with
roast meats.
Torres Altos Ibéricos
Rioja Crianza
This wine is the first fruit of a venture in
the Rioja region by the famous Torres
winery of Catalonia. As you’d expect, it’s
delicious, with ripe berry flavours and
aromas. A 100% Tempranillo that’s the
very essence of Spain, immersing your
palate in velvety smooth red fruits. Try
it with tapas, roast duck or a sweet redpepper
casserole.
Terre di Faiano Organic
Rosso IGP Puglia 2.25L
Ruby-red in colour, with aromas of rich
dark fruit, a silky texture and big bright
spicy flavours of cherries, vanilla and
chocolate. There is so much to enjoy
about this Primitivo – and we’d suggest
serving it with rich meat dishes.
Cave de Turckheim
Crémant d’Alsace
With its crisp, fresh apple notes and
creamy, smooth finish, this crémant
works as well as an apéritif as it does
with buffet food and puddings.
Kaapzicht Bush Vine
Chenin Blanc
This is from a collaboration between our
buyer and Kaapzicht, a family-owned
estate in Stellenbosch that is committed
to its environment and workers,
providing a crèche and a literacy
programme among other schemes. It
has deliciously rich apple and pineapple
flavours on the palate, which build to a
bright, dry finish.

No.1 Crusted Port
Produced for us by the renowned
Symington Family Estate, this is a
fine crusted port, a style with many
characteristics of a vintage port but
ready for drinking sooner. Crusted
port gets its name from the sediment
that forms as it ages in the bottle; like
vintage port it needs decanting. With
blackberry and cassis flavours, and
chocolate notes.
