Berlin / Walsall 2017
The saddle is a fitting piece between
an animal and a human.
Summer 2014, a ride in the Bolivian
Andes brought the idea to the project.
Intensive discussions between
the craftsman Stephen Hadley from
Walsall in England and the visual
artist Yvonne Roeb brought the trust
and willingness to work together.
Based on the first sketches, drawings
were made. The realization at the
saddlery began in 2015.
The artist accompanies the work from
the first cut to the last stitch. The
resulting saddles are deformations
of the real, and each saddle element
retains its life size.
Autonomous sculptures were created.
