HAPPY

TEACHER’S

DAY!

Good Teachers are the reason

why ordinary students

dream to do

extraordinary things.

- Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.

Greetings,

Our September issue of WindChimes is dedicated to our teachers to show our appreciation and give

them the respect and regard they deserve. 5th September- Teachers Day, is celebrated every year in

loving memory of an iconic Indian statesman, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Dr. Radhakrishnan was

the second President of India as well as a great teacher and philosopher. When he assumed office in

1962, his students were eager to celebrate his birthday. Instead, he advised them to observe September

5th as Teacher’s Day. And that is how we got to celebrate Teacher’s Day.So, this day is looked upon

with great fondness by teachers and students. Our Teachers play a vital part of our society’s framework

and as you all are aware that for teachers this year, their entire career has been flipped upside down.

Every teacher would rather have their students in the class then teaching them remotely.

Not only that, every teacher is worried for their students, how would they be managing their studies,

whether they are doing their work on time? How are they going to do in their tests? So many questions

they might not have answers to yet. Then on top of that, teachers were asked to completely change

the way they teach within a matter of days. I would say, it’s been absolutely amazing to see teachers

come together, learn new ways, update their technical know how. Go through innumerable teacher

workshops and webinars with excitement to new learning. As always, every teacher at

Woodridge High stepped up to the challenge and came together to create what’s best for the students.

It’s in a teacher’s heart to always put others before themselves and their efforts must not go

unnoticed.Students, take a moment to remember your teachers and think of how you can

make this day special even from a distance, your teachers are always thinking of you, this is one

day you can make their time and effort worthwhile! The WindChimes team have meticulously

collected your teachers views, their hobbies and their thoughts on teaching! I’m sure all our

readers will enjoy reading about their teachers and getting to know a little about them.

Wishing every teacher, “A Happy Teachers Day.”
