With each passing year, we further develop Polar and take a few more steps forward. We think things

over, test and improve, in areas both large and small. The goal, as always, is that you as a caravan owner

Everything we do, we do in a genuine Norrland way, here in the world’s northernmost caravan factory.

This means not only that our caravans are made for the tough Nordic climate, but also that we are

especially careful with the details and finish. Every caravan is hand-built by our skilled craftsmen, with

knowledge that has been passed down through the generations. And this is evident in everything from

road holding to insulation, and in details such as taps, lamps, hatches and windows. Our care and our

craftsmanship make your Polar caravan a good investment for the long term.

We have eight basic models in three different model series.

And you have several alternative floor plans to choose

from. Additionally, there are plenty of options and extra

equipment. In other words, you have great opportunities

for personalizing your new caravan to your wishes.

STABLE ON ANY ROAD

RELIABLE WINTER PROPERTIES

The lavish design with the most rigid caravan body on the

market ensures safe road-holding properties all year round

– including winter. There are cheaper solutions to be found,

but never on a Polar caravan. One of the secrets is that the

floor’s plywood joints are assembled using special reinforcing

plates. This ensures that a Polar caravan always has excellent

road holding.

SAFEGUARDING YOUR LICENCE

Polar caravans have the highest approved load weights on the market.

And that’s not all. Every Polar caravan is individually weighed and

receives a certificate showing its unique kerb weight. In this, we stand

alone in the industry. For us, it’s all about honesty and transparency.

You have the right to know exactly how much weight your car needs

to be capable of towing. And you have the right to know there is

nothing to worry about if you should be stopped for check weighing.

With a Polar caravan, there is no risk that you might lose your driving

licence because your caravan weighs more than the approximate

weight shown on a standard certificate.

“Swedish spring fishing is magical.

Just us and lots of fish!”

Jörgen Emanuelsson one of the members of “1995 års män” – a group of friends from

their days at the Royal Institute of Technology. Each year, they hitch up a Polar 560 and

take a week off to go fishing . It has is a combination fridge and freezer (170/31 l), an

extra large water tank and special moulding for hanging fishing lures.

Jörgen's biggest interest just now is undoubtedly

fly fishing in the river Ljusnan. Every

spring, a group of friends from the Royal

Institute of Technology go up to a particularly

good bend of the river. With them they have

flies they’ve tied themselves, which is an art

in itself. “We've taken a course in England

to learn how to tie flies; it's a very special

technique. Even the clothes are a little

different from traditional fishing with a reel.”

As an engineer Jörgen, likes innovations.

He has therefore invented and built his own

rack system where all his flies are attached,

visible and easy to choose among.

We follow the group far out into the river.

They position themselves strategically,

upstream and downstream, and at just the

right distance from each other, wading and

balancing on larger stones. You have to make

a good cast – out with the fishing line and

the line of self-tied flies in different colours.

It’s gone well for the group this week. In

principle, you eat the fish you’ve caught

every day, and these are real delicacies:

char, trout and salmon for the most part.

They own the caravan together. It’s parked

just outside Hede, so when it’s fishing

time, any of them can come up with a car,

hitch on the caravan and drive up into the

mountains.

In the kitchen drawers there are electronic

thermometers to make it easier to keep the

temperature exactly right.

“The most common way to ruin fish is to

overcook,” Jörgen says. “You always have

to do the fish ‘au point’, meaning precisely

when the fish starts to fall apart – not

a minute longer, because it would then

become dry and not all as tasty.”

The group prefers boiled new potatoes, but

they also have a sauce expert. Kalle works

as a saucier at a well-known restaurant, so

he’s usually the one who gets to bring out

the essence of the day’s catch with his unique

skills. Does he have any secrets to share?

“Liquorice and ginger may sound like a

strange mix, but with trout it's magical,”

he says. “Try it!”

Imagine if you could switch on the heat from the slopes.

Or check the caravan’s battery from home. Well, now you can

with our new, convenient Polar Connect. It’s our updated

system for connecting you to your caravan. Download and

launch the Polar Connect app; it only takes a few minutes

to create an account and get started with remote control of

your caravan. Simply follow the instructions in the app and

select your subscription option.

The app allows you to control caravan heating, refrigerator

and lighting, for example. You can also check the status of

your caravan, see if it has been moved and switch on the

alarm. Communication with your caravan is mainly via a builtin

SIM card that is activated automatically when you create

your account in the app.

THE THICKEST MATTRESSES ON THE MARKET

THE BEDROOM

Enjoying a good night’s sleep on holiday should be a matter

of course. This is why you’ll find the market’s thickest

mattresses on our beds. In addition, the temperature can

be separately adjusted in the sleeping section and there

are integrated partitions between different spaces so that

the whole family can get a good night’s sleep.

If you want to create more space in the daytime, our

extending crosswise double bed is the perfect choice.

The bed can be set to the divan position, which makes

it 16 cm shorter. And it’s available electrically powered.

Under the double bed there is a practical storage space,

and the bed can be lifted to facilitate cleaning.

HEADS UP: ADJUSTABLE BEDS

Adjustable head ends are standard in our long and double beds

in all caravans except the Edition versions. You can set the slope

in distinct positions if you’d like to sit up in bed to read or use

Travelling with children should be enjoyable and troublefree.

We’ve got it covered with our child-friendly caravans.

Our special children’s room solutions provide them with

their very own cosy nest right at the rear of the caravan.

Bunk beds with two-piece curtains transform the space

into a secluded hut. The curtains are standard in our

BK caravans and are available as options in others.

THE KITCHEN

Cooking while on holiday should be both simple and

inspiring. The kitchen must be practical and comfortable

with plenty of space and storage. All our kitchens have this.

Additionally, they have a window that makes them even

nicer to use.

You can choose an induction hob and gas oven as optional

extras. With these, you can cook just as you do at home.

Whether that means slow cooking or roasting the seasonal

turkey, it’s no problem at all!

where we eat, watch TV and just hang out. It’s a dining

room and lounge, all in one. The seating group is designed

to provide space for as many people as possible, and

you can be sure of sitting comfortably on the extra thick

cushions. It can easily be converted into a sleeping berth,

and just like that you have an extra bedroom.

You decide how you want your lounge to look. The kind

of fabric or leather you want on the couch. And which

corners are separated from the rest of the bathroom by

Peter and Katarina met rather late in life and became a family

of four with the bonus children. Their Polar 620 is a perfect fit.

When we sit down for a coffee under the

awning a bicycle suddenly comes rolling

towards us. It’s Cajsa – just back from

the beach and she’s hungry. She’s playing

beach volleyball and wants something

quick for lunch.

“Look in the freezer, dear, there’s pizza,”

says dad Peter.

Cajsa mumbles something and turns on the

fan and oven. Soon we'll be hearing the timer

bell ring and lunch will be ready.

“Everyone in our family has different times,”

says Katrina. “There’s no point in trying to

gather everyone for common meals every

day. Everyone can live as they please, it's

summer!”

The 620 has room for everyone. With the

ingenuous floor plan there is both a double

bed and a bunk bed.

The awning area is almost like a youth centre

in the evenings. There the kids can hang out

with their friends and play board games.

Or they can go in and watch a movie and

take advantage of the caravan's subwoofer.

“It’s a great place for watching movies,”

says mom Katarina. “Just in case, we have

got wireless headphones as well, so that

you can watch without disturbing others.

Camping with a really flexible caravan

means that we’re ready for almost any

situation that may arise.

In addition, we have a large sofa bed that’s

perfect when the children have friends along.

Then we really have a full house here!”

There is a lot to consider when choosing a caravan. But start with the

basics: How many of you are going to live and sleep in it? And do you want

room for guests too? We have made the choice a little easier by dividing our

caravans into four categories: single bed, double bed, flexi and family.

Our smallest caravan, which thanks to its smart floor plan is both

spacious and well-equipped. The 520 is easy to park in narrow spaces

and provides for smooth driving even on the most winding of roads.

At Polar we have a high-quality standard equipment. All our caravans are

built to cope with the Nordic climate. The standard equipment that we

include are extremely comprehensive. And since we incorporate features that

really are essential in our climate, there is less need for you to add extras,

which makes our production process more efficient. Some examples of

standard equipment:

Hydronic underfloor heating providing uniform heat. All Polar caravans

have a ball valve for efficient hot water distribution to provide a very even

temperature across the entire floor. The system has been customised for

each model of Polar caravan.

Heated grey water drainage systems. The only manufacturer providing heated

drainage systems as standard. You can empty it at any time without having

to hack away ice.

EACH IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN

We never sacrifice on the renowned Polar quality.

However, the caravans should be available in different

price ranges and dimensions. Consequently, we have

divided our caravans into three model series: Original,

Selected and Customized.

What differentiates them is the level of standard fittings

and the options for customisation. With Original, you

already have a level of standard equipment often

provided only as optional extras by other manufacturers.

We feel that these should be included in any caravan

in our climate.

At Polar, we build your caravan to order. So you can

design it specifically to suit your family. Each model

series features carefully-selected equipment and

fittings, but it is your choice of floor plan and interior

and exterior extras that makes the caravan your own.

No matter which model series you choose, you are

guaranteed a superior-quality caravan.

EVERY POLAR CARAVAN

IS TESTED IN A CLIMATE

CHAMBER

7-YEAR WATER INGRESS GUARANTEE

While other manufacturers merely conduct spot checks,

every single Polar caravan is individually tested in our

climate chamber in Dorotea before leaving our factory.

We expose the caravan to 36,000 litres of water and galeforce

winds for a whole hour. One of our test specialists

sits inside the caravan, taking humidity measurements and

checking that all of our quality requirements are fulfilled.

So when you get your Polar caravan, you know that it can

cope with any challenge that comes its way.

Erik and Hanna are mushroom nerds. Every autumn they roll out from Örebro with their comfortable

Polar 620. Out into the forests of Bergslagen. And they check carefully to make sure they’re not followed.

For them, the gold in the Swedish forest is something that provides rewards for the rest of the year.

We are in a townhouse neighbourhood

on the outskirts of Örebro. This is where

Hanna and Erik live, and hitched behind

their car is a Polar 620 Customized, adapted

to their needs.

The caravan has a 170 litre fridge and an

extra, extendible tabletop. The tabletop is

perfect for brushing, cleaning and cutting

mushrooms.

“It's usually chanterelles, and we dry them

at 40°C in the oven.”

When dinner is served, it is often the

caravan's oven that’s at the centre of things.

Erik and Hanna enjoy the mushrooms all

year round. Chanterelle toast is a frequent

starter, but the golden mushroom is also

used for all types of sauces, especially

for game.

"We like golden mushroom salad too. People

don’t think it's good, but the chanterelle

provides both chewing resistance and a

good and steady base with strong accents

in a salad.”

When asked where their chanterelle spots

are located, they react very strongly.

“We’ll never tell, not you or anyone else,”

says Erik. “Not even our family knows where

our golden stash is! We keep a watchful

eye on so that no one follows us to any

of our mushroom spots. It’s not just out

of selfishness, this is a bit of a sport and

at our age it’s a perfect fit – it's based on

knowledge and routine. No one else has

got there ahead of us, so we hope that we’ll

be able to keep them for ourselves.”

How was it that you decided on a caravan?

“I'm from the north,” says Hanna. “And I grew

up with caravans. Once you’ve learned to

appreciate that special freedom, you always

want to get back to it. There's nothing like

returning to the caravan after a long day

in the woods and sinking into the soft sofa,

enjoying a cup of tea and a movie. After

that you really fall asleep easily,” she says

with a laugh.

CARPENTRY SHOP

We make all the interior fittings in our carpentry shop, with no compromises

on quality. This includes cupboards, beds, wardrobes, sink units and much

more. Everyone on our workshop team is passionate about quality. The

materials are carefully selected and sourced locally, whenever possible.

One and the same master builder fits the entire interior of your caravan

– a guarantee of quality.

Every caravan we produce must be absolutely first rate. It’s always been that

way, and this is why 80% of all Polar caravans produced since the start in 1964

are still on the road today. You can’t get a better endorsement than that.


NO ASSEMBLY LINES OR ROBOTS

We take great pride in building our caravans – and have done so

since 1964. Every Polar caravan is built by real people, largely by

hand, at our factory in the Norrland town of Dorotea. There are

no assembly lines or robots to be found here. There’s special spirit

at Polar and sense of community. Founded on the desire to do

a good job – to build the best caravans on the market.

“For us, competing is a way of life.”

The Ivarsson family uses their Polar 730 in a special way. It features pull-out ski storage

and a ski boot dryer. There are also storage areas for helmets, back protectors and other

equipment. It’s needed if all the gear and the whole family is going to fit.

“Jesper is fifth in one of the major slalomcups

right now, and there are competitions

every other weekend,” says dad Bertil. “We

always park the caravan near the slalom

slope. This lets us get out and examine the

surface and temperature ourselves. For us

this is perfect; it gives us better awareness

than the competition.”

Jesper is 14 years old and slalom skiing is

his main interest. He skis both giant slalom

and super-G. The dream is of course the

national team, and this makes the number

of hours on the slopes extremely important.

The one who spends the most time on skis

usually wins in the end.

“Since we got the caravan, I’ve doubled

my skiing hours,” he says. Last year I spent

almost 1000 hours on skis. That's good,

but overall you have to reach that magical

10,000-hour mark to be really good.”

The caravan is like a tailor-made competition

home. The pull-out ski box is clad in rubber,

which the family has installed themselves

to protect the steel edges of their skis. There

is also a custom-built waxing table. The TV

is on a wall mount and connected to a hard

drive, where the family stores high-resolution

video from each training session and

competition. In the evenings, they analyse

the technical details and times for different

parts of the slope. Where was it fastest?

How were mistakes made? What can be

done better?

“We often need to follow events at other

locations in real time, so the Internet

connection has to be perfect.” Jesper also

does his homework through app-controlled

homework assistance, and often via video

connections with the teachers at his

secondary schoolin Stockholm. Most of it

can be done with a good connection. Inside

the caravan there is naturally a shoe and ski

boot dryer, so each session starts out with

dry, warm feet. A must is avoiding colds –

the fear of every winter sportsman.

When we leave Bertil and Jesper, mom

Anne-Marie walks up in slalom boots. There

will now be a joint analysis of the tactics

for tomorrow. Because tomorrow is the day.

There’s a new contest and Jesper has a

bronze medal from last year to defend.

Once in the early days of Polar caravans a customer was stranded

with their caravan and required customer service to be able to
