EDITOR’S
NOTE
Hello all, and welcome to my new motorcycle
experience. I could say it’s been
a long time coming starting my own
website/magazine, but I would be lying.
The idea of going out on my own
and starting my own motorcycle media
company has always been something
I’ve wanted to do for a long time,
but never really had the balls to do it.
Whilst sitting at home one day, just over
a month ago, and not having my family
here to keep me entertained and my
mind fully occupied, I got to thinking
about the idea of starting my own thing.
I’ve built up such great resources and
connections and have such great support
from within the industry and from
reader’s and fans all over so why not do
it? Often when I had these thoughts my
mind would go into ‘play safe’ mode,
and I would convince myself to carry on
just doing what I was, basically doing
the majority of the work and using all
my resources to benefit another party.
For years many have told me to go
out on my own and for year’s I just
doubted myself and didn’t trust in my
own ability to do so. But, after chatting
to my beautiful wife, my family, and
some big players in the SA motorcycle
industry I decided to take the leap and
go out on my own – Moto Rider World
was born!
It’s been a month of hard work and
long hours, but finally the website and
first digital issue is out for you all to
enjoy. Moto Rider World is everything
I have done over the past 15 years just
amplified. I’ve taken a winning formula
and made it better, I hope. But Moto
Rider World is not just about me, it’s
for everyone, by everyone, and that is
something I really want to get across
with this new venture. I will be leaning
on you all for support and guidance,
more so than ever before, and so far, I
have had it in abundance, which makes
me very emotional. It’s a good thing I
can type this out, if it was a video you
would all be seeing tears right now.
It’s been an emotional roller-coaster
so far, but like most, it’s been loads of
fun and it will carry on being fun, exciting,
stressful, painful, rewarding, and
every other emotion for years to come
I’m sure, and I hope you all stick with me
and come along too!
