About the Authors<br />

Sam Lubbe has spent more than 18 years working in the field of Information<br />

Systems. He has served some time as a user and as an IT professional. He always<br />

ensured that the organizations obtain the maximum benefit for the amount of money<br />

they invested in e-commerce. Recently, he has specialized in the area of ecommerce<br />

in SMEs. He has published some articles in this subject area. He holds<br />

a B.Com., B.Com. (Hons.), M.Com. and Ph.D. and is a Head of Department in<br />

IT at Cape Technikon in South Africa.<br />

Udo Averweg is employed as an Information Analyst by eThekwini Municipality,<br />

Durban, South Africa. He entered the Information Technology (IT) industry during<br />

1979 and holds a master’s degree in Information Technology (cum laude). He is<br />

a professional member of the Computer Society of South Africa and has delivered<br />

research papers at local and international (Hawaii, Australia and Egypt) IT<br />

conferences.<br />

Terry Anthony Byrd is associate professor of MIS in the Department of<br />

Management at the College of Business, Auburn University. He holds a BS in<br />

electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a PhD<br />

in management information systems from the University of South Carolina. His<br />

research has appeared in MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information<br />

Systems, Decision Sciences, OMEGA, Interfaces and other leading journals. His<br />

current research interests include the strategic management of information technology,<br />

information technology architecture and infrastructure, electronic commerce, and<br />

information technology implementation.<br />
