� <strong>Academic</strong> <strong>Activities</strong><br />
o Over <strong>the</strong> past years, <strong>the</strong> Institute <strong>of</strong> Chemistry has privilege to produce many eminent Scientists<br />
<strong>of</strong> National and International repute. The graduates <strong>of</strong> this Institute are holding positions <strong>of</strong><br />
eminence in Education, R & D Organizations and Industries as well as in administration at home<br />
and abroad. Many o<strong>the</strong>rs have also gained international recognition in higher education and<br />
research. The Institute remained well known for its pioneer work in some fields <strong>of</strong> research, i.e.,<br />
Magneto chemistry, Carbohydrate Chemistry etc., and many renowned Scientists including<br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>essor A.H. Compton, a Noble laureate, worked in <strong>the</strong> laboratories <strong>of</strong> this Institute.<br />

<strong>Academic</strong> <strong>Activities</strong><br />
� Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs<br />
During <strong>the</strong> academic session 2010-11 Institute <strong>of</strong> Geology enrolled 51 students in B.S. (04 years)<br />
Applied Geology, First Pr<strong>of</strong>essional, while 43 students in M.Phil Applied Geology, 19 students in<br />
M.Phil leading to Ph.D. / Ph.D. under old scheme and 15 students have been admitted in M.Sc.<br />
Whereas, 139 students <strong>of</strong> B.S. (04 years) Applied Geology (Morning & Replica), 80 students <strong>of</strong><br />
M.Sc. Applied Geology (Morning & Replica) and 13 students <strong>of</strong> M.Sc. Seismology as well as 02<br />
Ph.D. scholars have passed during <strong>the</strong> academic session 2010-11.<br />
� M.Phil / PhD Programs<br />
Presently Institute <strong>of</strong> Geology is running following M.Phil / M.Phil leading to PhD programs with total<br />
strength <strong>of</strong> 95 students.<br />
