The Rakaia Gorge Musterers vs<br />
Methven Bcharity rugbymatch<br />
thisweekend in Methven, has<br />
been postponed due to Covid<br />
19.<br />
The annual event which has<br />
been runfor the past 63 years,<br />
althoughnot consecutively,<br />
has traditionally been played<br />
at the end of the autumn<br />
muster there whenwere heaps<br />
of musterers still floating<br />
around.<br />
It is the longestrunning<br />
charity matchinthe southern<br />
hemisphere.<br />

Road, said the game, initially<br />
scheduled for this Saturday<br />
and organised to raise money<br />
for St John ambulance,needed<br />
asupportivecrowd to raise as<br />
much money as possible.<br />

being passed around, there<br />
will also acharity auction<br />
offering acoupleofBand B<br />
accommodation packages and<br />
farm supplies.<br />

Army band coming here<br />
The popular and entertaining New Zealand Army Band will<br />
perform in <strong>Ashburton</strong> next month.<br />
The New Zealand ArmyBand<br />
is touring and will play a<br />
concert at the <strong>Ashburton</strong><br />
Trust EventCentre on<br />
September 18.<br />
The liveshows follow a<br />
recent soldout concert in the<br />
ChristchurchTown Hall.<br />
During the lockdown, the<br />
ArmyBand kept busy by<br />
producing many online<br />
“bubbleband” recordings,<br />
includinganhourlong Anzac<br />
Day concert. Theweekly<br />
recordings werewatched by<br />
more than twomillionviewers<br />
from all aroundthe world.<br />
The NewZealand Army<br />
Band Live tour will be feature<br />
big band,classicaland brass<br />
band music andsome worldclass<br />
vocal and instrumental<br />
soloists.<br />
