PATHWAYS OF
LEARNING AT DCIS
Our Learning Pathways are structured as follows:
PATHWAY 1
Pathway 1 is the mainstream provision, delivering quality-first teaching in a differentiated classroom. Should
students require additional short-term support in order to meet the learning outcomes, this can be offered
through our learning support and therapy teams. The students’ needs are met within the mainstream
environment and the student is withdrawn from the class for extra support. This also includes students
studying English as an Additional Language, accessing a language intensive specialised English curriculum.
PATHWAY 2
Pathway 2 provides a greater level of
support due to a higher level of need.
Pathway 2 is aligned to the curriculum of
Pathway 1, however, outcomes are adjusted
for each student. The student is taught in
a smaller class, with 8-10 students, with a
teacher and teaching assistant to provide
a greater level of support. Classes are
twinned with a Pathway 1 class for nonacademic
subjects to enable students
to learn and socialise with their peer
group, whilst receiving support to move
to independence in academic subjects.
Students in Pathway 2 may transfer to
Pathway 1 when they are confident and
able to independently access learning.
PATHWAY 3
Pathway 3 provides the highest level of support for
students with more significant learning and/or social
needs. An individualised curriculum and support
programme is required for these students. Our Pathway 3
programme offers more intensive support and resources
delivered by highly trained Special Educational Needs staff.
The ratio of adults to students is increased and the class
size is reduced with 8 students per class. Pathway 3 classes
are located centrally in R block within the school to enable
access to a wide range of support services including;
physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and
language therapy, as well as our educational psychologist.
Integration and twinning plays an important part of the
school day. Pathway 3 students play, eat and share many
learning opportunities together with other students
across the school to foster a truly inclusive environment.

STEP 2: THE APPLICATION
applications for commencement at the start of each of our three terms for both the current year and future academic years. Our
largest intake is at the beginning of our academic year, which is August. We operate a rolling waitlist system, if children are unable
to secure a place in the preferred term, their application will continue to stay on our waitlist until a place becomes available.
To submit an application, you will need to complete the DCIS application form along with additional documents which vary across
the different year groups and pay a fee of S$800. From 1st September 2024, the Application Fee will be S$825.
us to contact the child’s current/previous school and ask them to complete a Confidential Student Reference form and obtain
in for an assessment.
PRIMARY ASSESSMENTS
We support children with additional educational needs and children with English as an Additional Language. Students applying
for these programmes will be required to come into school for an assessment.
help us plan how our provision can best support his/her needs.
Once we are in receipt of application documentation and all necessary assessments have been completed and approved by the
