We’ve used Big Town as an outcross sire. He’s from the Blackwater Cattle Company/
Mound Creek USA Brangus programs, which are known for a more powerful style of
Brangus cattle, which suit hot, humid Florida cattle operations and therefore more in line
with the requirements of Australian farms.

During a trip to Florida, we saw large lines of Nuff Said calves, the sire of Big Town, and we
wanted to use him in Australia. Unfortunately his semen was never available here, but
we were able to secure his son Big Town. Big Town has been extremely successful in the
USA, with his sons making US$110,000 (MC Boom Town 541F4) and US$75,000 (MC Big Tex
