Heartbeat July 2020

Shout out has been a regular feature
in Heartbeat and it is fantastic to see
colleagues regularly taking the time to
give positive feedback to each other.
We regularly receive positive feedback from
our patients too, and this month we wanted
to share some of those heart-warming
messages which have been sent via our
website and social media platforms.

Nicola helped me sort out a referral for an
MRI scan for a GP practice that was urgent.
The patient is very happy they are getting
the scan this evening. Nicola certainly went
the extra mile

I've recently redeployed with this team and
work jointly with OOH District Nursing,
the staff here are very caring towards
the patients, families and work very hard
to achieve the best outcomes for the
patients. End of Life care can be very scary
time for some but the high-quality-care,
professionalism and compassion provided
by the staff is highly appreciated by the
patients and their families. I've been made
to feel very welcome here and given lots of
support to settle in. Thank you all esp. Jo
Clews who helped me during my very first
night shift here.

These colleagues have been travelling back
and forward to Westbourne centre and
skin department, coming to work early
and going home late to fulfil their duties
without hesitation. They have done their
duties very well and have adapted in this
new environment to provide care to the
patients. Compliment to Mr Salahuddin,
Dr D Thompson, Dr M Thomson and Dr A
Rajasekaran and also Ann Rutland for job
well done.

Professional empathetic and thorough well
documented end of life care for a patient
with no family. Discussion of prognosis,
end of life decision and care with clear
very appropriate timely assessment of
mental capacity was excellent. Also very
appropriate timely specialist palliative
care referral and she went the extra mile
to sit with patient as he was dying. She
also called his one requested contact
community pharmacist before and after
death. Also her clear careful timed
documentation. Very well done Amy.

Diabetic team have received feedback from
a parent of a child recently admitted to
Lyndon one. Grateful for all support she
received from all staff during her recent
stay, during stressful time, full praise for
the team well done.

Thank you for continuing to provide
excellent patient care and for continually
smiling and keeping each other going,
there is a real atmosphere of camaraderie
on all of the wards at Rowley amongst the
whole MDT, nurses, GPs, therapists and
facilities staff taking time out to look out
for each other, bake for each other and
generally just being a great team, thank
you.

you lovely ladies after I was taken ill in the
outpatients department on 5 June 2020. I

me so quickly.

MASSIVE SHOUT OUT TO OUR DOMESTIC
TEAM! NO complaints or grumbles from
them when having to deep clean whole
bays once empty, they are so thorough
with their work and ensure the bays are
perfect for the next patients. Even wiping
down walls! Massive thank you from all on
AMUA :)

The pop up shop is amazing. It's been
a lifesaver for popping in and getting
essential items especially after a night shift!

Big shout out to Hannah Griffiths School
Health Nurse. Hannah has worked really
hard to ensure that the needs of a young
person in her care were safeguarded this
week. She has really listened to the young
person and gained trust. She has liaised
with other professionals and acted as an
advocate. A fantastic example of School
Nursing making a difference.
