RoBIN Hood Shopping Parade in Longbridge
Road, Barking, found a special way to celebrate
its recent revamp.
It put on an open day, complete with stalls selling
handmade gifts, jewellery and toys. There was
face painting and a bouncy castle for children and
Barking and Dagenham Council’s Community
Safety Team was on hand to offer safety advice.
The event showed residents the new forecourt
work and encouraged people to shop locally.
Visitors were also asked their opinion on what sort
of artwork should be installed in the four corners
of the new paved area.
Loraine Sullivan from local business Ab Fab
Tanning said: “The i-Fit Team recruited 14 new
members in one day, which is amazing”, while
James Hogg from Siger Salon said: “It’s great to
see so many people in the area on a Saturday.”
