26 October 2012 Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and all other enabling legislation and powers, and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Act, intend to make the above mentioned orders. Amendment 44 relates to the Leftley Estate, at the junctions of the following roads: Sudbury Road, Cavendish Gardens, Woodbridge Road, Stratton Drive, Beccles Drive, Manor Road, Brockdish Avenue, Halsham Crescent, oulton Crescent, Dereham Road, Sandringham Road, Sheringham Drive, Bradfield Drive, Westrow Drive, Hepworth Gardens, upney Lane, Clare Gardens, The Drive, Cornwall Close, oakley Avenue and Melford Avenue. Copies of the draft order together with a plan and statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing this order are available for inspection at the Planning Application desk, Town Hall, Barking and at the offices of the Chief Executive, Civic Centre, Dagenham between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday. With three of the next four league games at home, the Daggers now have the chance to push even further away from the drop zone. The third home game in just over two weeks brings pre-season title favourites Rotherham to east London on 10 November. Details IT’S been a mixed start to the season, with many cup games interrupting the scheduled league fixtures. And we certainly could have hoped for better than an early exit from the FA Cup and inconsistent league results. There have been many positives over the last month, though, with a visible improvement not only in our scorelines but also in the way the team is playing. We’re now starting to show the quality we expected at the start of the season, with the new signings bedding in nicely. Since the start of September we’ve played 11 games, five in the league and six cup matches. From those 11, there were five victories – over Barkingside and London Tigers (FA Vase), Sawbridgeworth Town and FC Clacton (Essex Senior Cup), and Hullbridge Sports. Upturn The upturn in form has put us in a solid league position that we can rise from, and given us some progression in both the FA Vase and Essex Senior Cup. The Barking Academy, set up at the beginning of this season, has proved really beneficial already, with Lemar Reynolds stepping up and being involved in the first team squad over the past couple of games. It’s exciting to see the young players coming through and showing their quality at such a young age. Saturday’s game saw us take on Dunstable Town in the first round proper of the FA Vase, a game we knew was going to be a real challenge. It was extremely tight for the first 65 minutes – both teams were trying to play attractive football, but open chances were nonexistent. unfortunately, Dunstable struck first, after 76 minutes. It was more our own fault than their good play that gave them the lead. We dug deep and created a couple of good halfchances that, on another day, would have gone in. But despite the fight, we went on to concede two further goals. Gutted We’re gutted to be knocked out of the FA Vase, but every player put in a hard shift, and that’s all you can ask. Looking ahead, the fixtures continue to come thick and fast. 20 SPORT Unequal task BARKING Rugby Club have a mountain to climb this weekend, facing their toughest test yet in a hugely difficult season. They host a Henley Hawks side who are threatening to run away with National League Two South. While Barking are rock bottom – the home loss to Dings Crusaders left them eight points adrift – their visitors are looking down on the rest.
