<strong>Lagravera</strong> was created when the Arnó family decided to<br />

do something unprecedented: restore an old gravel pit<br />

and make it into a vineyard. The building that houses the<br />

cellar, located in the municipality of Alfarràs, in the region of<br />

Segrià, is an old warehouse, also renovated and adapted<br />

to the new activity that was recognized by official College of<br />

architects of Catalonia. The 11 hectare estate is located in a<br />

privileged spot, between the slope South of the long Sierra<br />

and the river Noguera Ribagorzana.<br />

PHILOSOPHY<br />

<strong>Lagravera</strong> is a winery where fauna, flora, land and cosmos<br />

work in harmony to make unique wines. We are in Alfarrás<br />

(Lleida), within the Costers del Segre PDO. The philosophy<br />

is based on the need to protect the balance between<br />

human exploitation and the environment, working under the<br />

ecological precepts. Biodynamic (DEMETER) & Organic<br />

(CCPAE) certified, all biodynamic treatments are grown<br />

and prepared on site and they were recently named “Best<br />

Organic Winery in Catalonia” in a televised broadcast.<br />

The work of yarrow and biodynamic preparations has given us the security of being able to make a wine without<br />

varieties and the terroir of the various parcels.<br />
