AUCTIONEER: CHRIS POLEY

The inaugural Big Chill Sale welcomed a large

audience, both in attendance and online. In

the frozen genetics offering, two packages of

embryos out of Yasemin of Uneeda 260Y,

sired by Moovin Zpotz Dart 37D and JSF

Creed 1F, sold to Peak Farms Ltd., Osler,

Sask., for $2,000/embryo. Topping the semen

sale was a total of 12 straws of Premier 101Y

Logic L11 for $525/straw; six units sold to

Highmark Speckle Park, Hague, Sask., and

Black Diamond Speckle Park, Australia, and

six went to KFC Farms, Abbotsford, B.C. JSF

Kali 11G was the high-selling heifer calf at

$11,500 to Underhill Specs, Guelph, Ont.,

and Owen Noble, Lloydminster, Sask. Two

bred heifers sold for $11,750: JSF Sasha 61F

was purchased by Silvertip Speckle Park,

Brantford, Ont., and JSF Midnight Lady

46F sold to Twin Lake Livestock, Kitscoty, Alta.

1 bull calf sold $4,600

4 heifer calves averaged $8,500

3 bred heifers averaged $11,583

8 pregnant recipients averaged $5,206

128 embyros averaged $1176/embryo

272 units of semen averaged $169/straw

30 units of semen averaged $446/straw

FINAL RESULTS:

The sale grossed $311,675 on 44 lots of

live cattle and genetics.

The 2019 Canadian National Speckle Park

Sale prices held strong with a standing-roomonly

crowd at Canadian Western Agribition.

MT Bar Eddie The Eagle 01E, sired by River

Hill 60W Line Drive 54Z, topped the bull

offering; one-half interest and full possession

sold to Jackungah Speckle Park, Victoria, and

Irvine Bata for $14,500. The high-selling

female was Greenwood Goddess DJP 70G,

a daughter of CAJA Zeppelin 1B, purchased

by Martin Speckle Park, Vermilion, Alta., for

$14,000. Embryos by JSF Wall Street 36E,

out of Ravenworth Western Jewel 116B, sold

for $2,250/embryo to David Lloyd, Wales,

United Kingdom.

2.5 bulls averaged $9,900

24 heifer calves averaged $6,969

9 bred heifers averaged $6,894

1 pick of the herd sold $13,000

39 embryos averaged $977/embryo

76 units of semen averaged $239/straw

1 flush sold $5,500

FINAL RESULTS:

The sale grossed $343,100 on 53 ½ lots,

averaging $7,316 on 36 ½ live cattle.

The top-selling bull in Wattle Grove

Speckle Park’s Annual Sale was a 2-yearold,

Wattle Grove Road Block N328, a son

of Mainstream Eldorado E11, who was

acquired by Crocodile Creek Speckle

Park, New South Wales, for $19,000.

Yearling bull Wattle Grove Dagger P15

commanded a price of AUD$14,000

and sold to JK & CL McLoughlin,

Queensland. The top-selling heifer was

Wattle Grove Nancy P240, a daughter of

Codiak Putnam GNK 61Y, who sold to

Corndale Speckle Park, Queensland, for

AUD$20,000. Semen from Upto Specs

Ulysses 25U fetched AUD$510/straw,

going to Toebelle Limousin, New South

Wales. Craig & Louise Parker purchased

the top embryos, a mating of Upto Specs

Ulysses 25U and Codiak Zahrah GNK 50Z,

for AUD$2,300/embryo.

21 bulls averaged $7,925

16 heifers averaged $9,421

24 embryos averaged $1,568/embryo

40 units of semen averaged $381/straw

FINAL RESULTS:

The sale grossed AUD$362,000.
