Conflict, Legitimacy and Government Reform: Equitable Allocation of Resources in Thai Society Introduction The King Prajadhipok’s Institute is set to organize the 11 th academic congress for 2009 (KPI Congress) entitled “Conflict, Legitimacy and Government Reform: Equitable Allocation of Resources in Thai Society”. The objective of the congress is to create a public stage to present academic works and invite thinkers and practitioners including interested parties from local and abroad to express views and outlooks and exchange experiences over the state systems, conflicts and justice in society. The congress will also provide recommendations and take part in drafting national policies that fairly allocate resources for all Thais. This document is made as a supplementary document for an academic seminar held by the King Prajadhipok’s Institute, if the document is found to be incomplete or carry any mistake; the institute would like to extend an apology to all participants. After the seminar is ended, the institute will provide another document which includes the results of the congress to be disseminated to concerned agencies and general public. 5
