NECK, BODY AND TAIL LIMBS SKIN AND COAT
Neck
Strong, of fair length, well muscled, slightly
arched, clean, free from throatiness, without
dewlap.
Body
Straight, strong, firm body; short, strong, deep
loins; croup: broad, of medium length, slightly
rounded; neither flat nor falling away; chest:
roomy, broad and deep (approximately 50% of
the shoulder height) with well developed fore
chest and well sprung ribs.
Tail
In natural condition, level in extension of the
upper line, may hang at ease.
Forequarters
Seen from the front, the front legs are straight
and not placed too closely to each other. From
the side, the forearms are straight and vertical.
The shoulder blade is at around 45 degrees.
The shoulders are well laid back. The upper
arms are close to the body. Forearms are well
developed and muscular; pasterns are slightly
springy, strong, not steep; front feet are round,
tight and well arched; pads hard; nails short,
black and strong.
Hindquarters
Seen from behind, the legs are straight and not
too close together; obtuse angles between
upper thigh and hipbone, upper thigh and
lower thigh, and lower thigh and metatarsal;
moderate length to upper thighs, which are
broad and highly muscled; the lower thighs are
long, powerful and broadly muscled, sinewy;
sturdy, well angulated hocks, not steep; feet are
slightly longer than the front feet. Strong,
arched toes as tight as those on the front feet.

Skin
Sur la tête, la peau est bien tendue ; lorsque le
chien est très attentif, elle peut former de légères
rides sur le front.
Hair
The topcoat is of medium length, coarse to the
touch, smooth and flat; the undercoat must not
show through the topcoat; the hair is a little longer
on the hind legs.
The colour is black with clearly defined rich tan
markings on the cheeks, muzzle, throat, chest
and legs, as well as over both eyes and under
the base of the tail.
