Anna Hu’s jewels sold
by Diamonds That Care
to raise funds against
Covid-19
Three diamond jewellery pieces designed
by Chinese jewellery artist Anna Hu were
offered at an online charity auction, to raise
up to $420,000 for the families of health-care
workers who lost their lives to Covid-19. The online
auction will run through July 13.
The jewellery pieces include an 18k white-gold
and 18k red-gold heart-shaped necklace with 305
fancy colour and colourless diamonds, weighing
a total weight of 77 carats. It is centered with
a 27.02-carat pear-shaped fancy brown-yellow
diamond and has an estimated value of between
US$257,800 and US$386,700.
Hu created these unique pieces exclusively
for this charity project using rich brown
diamonds extracted by ALROSA in Yakutia,
a region in the Siberian Far East. Proceeds
from the sale will assist healthcare workers
who continue to work at the center of efforts to
combat the pandemic. The project is organized
in cooperation with the nonprofit charitable
organisation Diamonds Do Good.
