Silver Jubilee Year 1993

Sincere congratulations to the Ngaruawahia United Association Football Club on the

attainment of their Silver Jubilee Year.

We can now pause and reflect, I feel, on what must surely be regarded as a somewhat

remarkable and successful career thus far.

From those early days when our first players took tentative steps in the lower Waikato

divisions, our Club has blossomed in such a manner as to be the admiration of many clubs that are

well established and of a higher status in our footballing fraternity.

In this regard we owe due gratitude not only to our resident committee, club members,

supporters, coaches, managers and players, but also all those who have gone before.

Our facilities in the form of playing and training grounds, our changing rooms and club

rooms are of credit not only to those who volunteered their labour, know-how and special skills, but

also to those background workers who provided refreshment, scones, sandwiches and moral support

to keep the spirits up and the fires burning.

on a more personal note, my sincere thanks to you all for your most valued support

through those early years as we stove for maturity. Our aim, even in those days, was to reach the top

divisions; ambitious indeed, nonetheless it still remains our ultimate goal. I feel sure that with the

marvellous spirit generated within our club and its members that goal could eventually be within the

realms of reality.

Once again, congratulations and best wishes to you all. Enjoy the festivities of this

occasion.

It is with some sense of humility that I confess to being proud of your successes and to

being your Founder and Patron.
