1987 Ngaruawahia Northern League, Division 2
With much of the previous year (and the off-season) being
spent preparing the way for the arrival of Kit Fagan from England as
the club’s new coach, the side made a steady start to the Northern
League 2nd Division with John McDermid and Grant Carlson netting
in an away 2-0 win over Eden.
The following game was also away being a 1-1 draw with
Unicol. The third game was our first home tie being against
Tauranga. And it was in the middle of this match that the travelweary
Kit Fagan was brought directly to the park from the Auckland
airport..
Caretaker Coach George Sunnex handed over the reins to
Kit that following week, having placed the team in second spot
behind Glenfield.
