1983 7th Grade C

1983

Standing: Jolene Cryer, (#2?), Netta Pope, (#4?), (#5?), (#6?), Janet Pope (Coach).

Kneeling: Shane Elliot, (#9?), (#10?).

SQUAD

Shane Elliot, Glen Howie, Joleen Cryer, Netta Pope, Hayden Porter, Melanie

Derecourt, David Bernhart, Justin Connolly, Jamie O'Brien, Kylie Andrews,

Karl Moran, Keith Donald.

SCORERS

Shane Elliot(2), Jamie O'Brian(4), Kylie Andrews(4).

This squad was made up of the youngest players in the Club of five

and six-year-olds, all being new to football. We didn't have the success one

would measure through wins but every game was a winner as far as

enjoyment went. The parents gave 100% support.

Thanks to the efforts of Peter Bos, the team were given a set of smart

shirts sponsored by M.L.C., which greatly enhanced the children's

appearance.

SHANE ELLIOT

One of our goal-scorers. He began to develop into a quick, determined player,

and was starting to watch for other team-mates towards the end of the season.

GLEN HOWIE

Played as goalkeeper and did very well in that area.

DAVID BERNHART

Played for half the season while he enjoyed it, but the weather conditions got

the better of him.

JOLEEN CRYER

Enjoyed playing and was attacking well, but illness hampered her towards the

end of the season.

NETTA POPE

Her size was against her, but she always kept up with the play.

MELANIE DERECOURT

Played three games at the beginning of the season but again the weather

conditions were too much for her.

HAYDEN PORTER

Played well in both positions of defender and goalkeeper.

JUSTIN CONNOLLY

Developed positional sense at fullback and he enjoyed his games.

JAMIE O'BRIEN

A fast player with a lot of potential. Ran well up front.

KYLIE ANDREWS

Played as a forward and was amongst the goals. He also has the

potential to be a good player.

KARL MORAN

A utility player (can play in any position). He was one of our youngest

players, and towards the end of the season made a very promising

goalkeeper.

KEITH DONALD

Joined up towards the end of the season and enjoyed his games. We

hope he returns next season.
