SHANNON DEACON (Defender)

A first season player Shannon has enthusiasm and tenacity and completes our

defensive trio which worked well all season. He is fast and does not give up easily.

He has improved all the time.

PHILLIP KERR (Utility)

A late starter due to arriving in the district after the start of the season, Phillip has

worked hard and fitted in well. He has ability to clefend or attack and scored a good

goal against Taupiri (who were competition runners-up).

ANDREW WILLIAMSON (Winger)

A skilfull player on his day, Andrew has the ability to move swiftly into attack and

passes the ball well.

AARON WALLBANK, JONELLE ABBOTT & SAMUAL RAWIRI ...

... were part of the team during the year but had to stop playing for various

reasons, but thanks are due to them for their considerable contributions.

1983

JOE WRIGHT (Coach)

Joe has continued his ful relationship with the team, a lot of whom were coached

by him in 1982, and who have responded well to his undoubted talent as a

teacher and motivator. Joe has the ability, with a few well-chosen words, to really

get through to the team. Some of his halftime tune-ups have been classics and

have turned a losing situation right around, and the advice from the sideline during

games was succinct, to the point, and audible!

TERRY GOODALL (Coach)

New to the art of team, Terry has leaned a lot (and enjoyed the experience). Aside

from forgetting to bring the ball to practice or being unable to find the venue of the

game and driving around the Hamilton suburbs in a wild panic, it has been a

reasonably trouble-free season!
