ROBERT JEFFCOTE

A fast and skilfull right half. He always gave of his best and was a very

effective link between the defenders and strikers. The team owes much

of their scoring situations to him.

CALLUM McBURNEY

Tremendously determined, pacey centre-forward. His determination and

follow-up resulted in his 16 goals. His aggression was a constant source of

worry to opposition goalkeepers.

ROBERT McLEAN

Captain for the season who possesses the skill and ability to go right to

the top. He has a tremendous work-rate and occasionally tended to do a

little too much on his own, but for sheer skill and ability to read a game

he has few peers at junior level.

MICHAEL MERCEP

Youngest player in the team, but in a straight one-to-one situation was

hardly ever bested. Exceptionally courageous and played some valuable

games at the back although he is better suited to midfield or forward

play.

REBECCA PATTERSON

Solid fullback who always made an effective contribution and, next to

Robert McLean, had the strongest kick in the team. Likes nothing

better than to beat male opponents! Took all decisions and never

argued -thoroughly deserved her Sportsperson award.

STEPHEN PUNCHEON

"Punchie" was one of the team characters. A dependable defender who

was hard to push off the ball, or to get past.

DARRYL VICKERS

Another solid character. A versatile player in several positions as well as being an

excellent ball distributor.

TAWA WHITE

One of the finds of the season, being a natural player with an instinctive

ability to be in the right place at the right time. Nicknamed "The Foot" from the

number of times he cleared off the line when an opposition goal seemed

inevitable.

ANDREW WRAY

A slightly built boy who showed improvement throughout the season. A

natural "lefty" whose crosses often found Callum or Brian. Keen sense of

humour not often found in ex-Rugby wingers! Deserving winner of Most

Improved Player, as he got better each week.

BRIAN CATHRO

A very fast and skilfull right wing as demonstrated by his 24 goals. He is often

closely marked by the opposition but always came through with the goods.

TONY CROOKSTON

The smallest player in the squad with a lot of pace and a bottomless well of

stamina.

MATTHEW GURNELL

The tallest player in the team. He continued growing throughout the season

(as did his determination on tackling, even if a few of them were a fraction

late!!!). Valuable player.

VANESSA HEAD

Goalkeeper and probably the toughest "bloke" in the squad. She always

defended with great determination and courage. We wouldn't have

swapped her for Jim Barry under any circumstances.

STUART INGLIS

Our right back who improved all season and by the end of it he was

playing with a lot of commitment and ability.
